I Buy Cyprus today (the best paper) and the Cyprus Star. There is also the Cyprus Observer (also a weekly but I don't usually buy it as its not distributed in Esentepe). I never buy the Cyprus Times but sometimes pick up a free copy when crossing over the border at Ledra Street. Its of very low quality except for some of the foreign news articles copied from other sources. The editing and translation is very poor and it is extremely repetitive with identical large slabs of text printed 2-3 times on the fornt page and in the headlines and body of the article. Aussie

O only ever buy the Cyprus today. The Times leaves so much to be desired. I do however pick up a copy of Dilouge when crossing the line. Again its all been read before

Because we only come to the TRNC twice a year we tend to but Cyprus Today. Now I have been to Turkish lessons I will probably be buying all the local newspapers, I will not understand them, but I'll give it a good go. I had to interview a Turkish lady today & she thought that I was doing very well with my Turkish, I think she was just being polite. P

Try both Cyprus Today and Cyprus Star. You get slightly different views and reporting then make your own judgements.

Generally Cyprus Today consistently has the better local news and columns, analysis etc but the Star has good colour photography and features on travel food etc. Aussie

So, apart from Fred the Sportswriter, is the Cyprus Times worth buying? And you can read his article in five minutes whilst browsing. It's more expensive than their competitors and worse. Who is buying it? Tourists?
