We have taken possession of our apartment and were over during easter trying to get it kitted out. We were looking for some nice pictures to hang on the walls e.g. Harbour views or Cypriot village life etc. just cheap & cheerful to brighten the place up but try as we did we could find nothing. We tried everywhere we even went to the 1001 superstore at Ercan but found nothing. We did come across a couple of Galleries in Girne but they were not what we were after. We tried without success to find the Market in Girne. We drove up to the roundabout with the water feature then went on foot to try and find it but nothing. The only site we saw that could possibly hold a market was the land across from HSBC. I no that there are loads of places in the South that do this sort of thing but would rather purchase in the North if there are any place to get them.

Also up at St Hilarion Castle in the buffet shop ou can buy a cd with lots of beautiful pictures thats you can take to a shop and have them printed...this costs about 20 tl, and is really good value as there a lot of pictures to choose from. | The guy that does picture framing in the old Turkish quarter also has a stall at the Chateau Lambousa market and has a good selection of pictures. There is also a picture framer who has a big stock of pictures and he is located just up the road (towards the hospital) from the post office/land registry/court in Girne. AJ |

Go out there with a digital camera and have the pictures printed and enlarged unless you have a printer to do it yourself, some wonderful scenery around, I have lots of pictures around to remind me of the lovely holidays we have had in N Cyprus. The harbour is a favourite I have that on my desktop.

The Chateau Lambousa is located off the main strip in Lapta. From Kyrenia take the LH turn just past LA and the next LH thereafter. The market runs from 09:00 to 13:30 every Saturday. There are a number of stalls selling artwork and prints as well as other stalls selling myriad other items.

north4me . as gordon says i bought a couple of local picstures on CH,LA. a lady called pam schofield is allways displaying her work on there ,and they are very good. we also went to art gallery over towards approach to new harbour,go over main girne roundabout towards bellapis lights ,and its on that stretch near old cypriot reclaimed pottery yard .(lots of choice ,not cheapers) . then for additional try uk and take them over as hand luggage ,as we have done kav
