I left a white fabric garden umbrella under plastic outside in the winter thinking it would be protected but unfortunately it's covered with patches of mould patterns all over it now. Is there any hope of rescuing it? I have tried scrubbing with soap and water but it hasn't made any difference. Any advice please?

Try a cloth soaked in vinegar and sprinkle area with salt to use as an abrasive. try on a small patch first. Good Luck. Josephs wife.

take hot water and put a little of amoniac - the smell is not good but it is very efficient for carpet -

I would be inclined to try a very diluted solution of bleach and water. As your parasol is already white, you should be ok. Just do a patch test first. Oh, remember to use a white cotton cloth to clean it with, as a coloured one would run onto the white brolly! Good luck! xx Sharpeys girl x

Remove the canvas from the frame and let the Royal Laundry do the job for you. They do ours every year and make an excellent job of it.
