I tried putting "Guidos" into the search engine at the top of the page.



It came back with a staggering 134 mentions.



The reason is say "staggering" is because I thought it would be in the high thousands.



Anyway, directions:



Head from Girne towards Lapta, when you come to Alsancak, you will notice a golden lady statue on your left, Guidos is opposite. If you still can't find it, check through some of the posts you will find in the search engine, alternatively ask anyone who appears human, or even canine!

Guido's gets loads of positive feedback on this site. Don't spoil it by slagging people off.

Very bad form. Everyone is entitled to an opinion.

I like your food. Hardly Michelin star. But pleasant for a cheap Bistro.

Lillli, i will try to be as neutral as possible, but I do have to mention that anytime a restaurant is mentioned , you do pop in a couple of mentions.

I am sure by now most everyone knows the quality of your food, so maybe you would like to to take the high road and not fall for a trick remark aimed at getting a response. just let it go.

Guidos can hold its own I am sure..

Guidos is a nice place why is it the have a go MOB target them and not the myriad of other places that blatantly advertise on here.



Lets name a few jashans, the old mill, paradise, celebrity to name but a few.



I have been to Guidos the food is very nice mine hosts superb, it is not place I would go every week but if I wanted to go out for a meal and be sure I would have good food well prepared very well presented then I would go for sure.

Thank you Dee and Nigel. David and Stewey I have just seen the responses and David I understand your motives. Guido is proud of his achievements and naturally gets upset when he thinks he is being put down. It is very hard to make a living here against all the odds. We would never stoop so low to bribe anybody. As I said to Dee yesterday te nicest thing about the restaurant are the customers. They may come in as a stanger but go out as friends. Lilli posts as much as anyone else on these boards and usually in support of someone including other restaurants, why should she not be allowed to accept support and praise from others.



Guido's talent in the kitchen truly must be tasted to be believed - I have yet to find food so good in TRNC (and I have tried to eat in each restaurant at least once to try and form a varied and fair opinion) and I have also yet to find an Italian restaurant in Dublin that rivals him!



As to the hostess - well what can I say? Lilli is a lady in every sense of the word. Everyone is greated with warmth and made to feel as they are an old family friend. No matter what time of the day it is, how long Lilli has been on her feet that day or whatever else is happening in her private life, Lilli greets everyone with a smile and a sparkle in her eyes.



I personally wish them every success in their venture at Guido's. I would suggest visiting them at least once before you form an opinion just from the bo

unfortunately due to a very heavy work load out of the country and my pregnancy havent been able to try it out yet,but am looking forward to it very much.

Have been reading forum comments quite faithfully since before becoming a member and am surprised in general by some of the nastiness and cattiness going on.

I would love to meet up with other mothers and ladies in general after I have my little one, but am concerned about some of the bickering and gossip going on.

I feel quite embarrassed after reading negative comments- surely there must be another way?

As someone who has never been to Guildo's I cannot comment on their food or ambience. But having read loads of Lilli's posts on a myriad of subjects, I find her most charming.

Hope to meet her one day and try out the restuarant, those who try to discredit it are having the opposite effect on me, so their plans are not working.

Turbo is spot on! On nearly every restaurant posting Guido's try to hijack the thread.

Once being in the hospitality business myself. "Creating an Awareness" to the business is fine in a controlled manner. Lately Guido's is in overkill mode? What has happend to the receipe thread? Now we have the Avon and Girlie postings. In my business the computer was for facts and figures. If the owner of Guido's can sit on a computer and monitor Cyprus 44 all day the business must be suffering in some way or another. Take a page out of the other successful restaurants. "Let word of mouth do the talking." Not Cyprus 44. AP

Hi Airpointer but you may or may not notice that I dont start these threads nor do I highjack other estarants. In fact if I do go on a restaurant thread its to wsh them well. The avon do is for charity and its only fair to let people know. I do not arrange the Girls lunch but I do remind people. I do however think that this was stated by a customer (Dee) letting word of mouth do the talking and Im very grateful to her.
