Friends recommended this restaurant to us and have to say it is now on our list of favourites.

Have just returned from our second visit and worth recommending to other board members.

Extensive choice of menu at reasonable prices.

Food very tasty and well presented.

The proprietor and his staff are very welcoming and eager to please.

Well worth a visit for an enjoyable evening out with good food.

i am sorry to say that we had one of the worse meal ever in pastamania. the food was very poor and the presentation was a breadstick stuck in the middle of my pasta. the pasta was overcooked and the sauce tasteless .normally when a restaurant have a large menu most of the stuff has been prepared in advance. i have been in many italian restaurants in my time but that was terrible. the service was ok. the owner is turkish cypriot and he lived in australia. the staff is pakistani and turkish, where is the italian connection? we will never go back.

i've posted many a report on restaurants in the TRNC and generally been pleased with my experiences, but....

Visited Pasta Mania shortly after it opened with 'er in doors and the Mongers in tow...

without doubt the worst italian meal we'd ever had, plus to add insult to injury - frozen chips and veg.

and the service - imagine an episode of Fawlty Towers and you've got it.

Wild horses wouldn't drag me back.

I must admit to having a 'poor' meal in Pasta Mania with some friends and needless to say none of us or friends have gone back.

Service is good but I need more than that to get me back through the doors

Have eaten at Pasta Mania on 3 occasions and every time food and service have been fantastic. In particular, the sea food pasta is wonderful, chock full of king prawns, mussels, calamari, normal prawns and even scollops - delicious.

Maybe the lack of quality provided during some of the visits mentioned in previous posts was down to teething troubles after opening ???

I would recommend a visit to anyone.

Judy,

As you know we had three great meals there a few weeks ago and will be going again on our next visit. You can only judge as you find and we found it very good.

Only positive experiences for me and I've been there lots of times with different visitors and they have all enjoyed it too. I have always found the staff and owner very eager to please and they will basically do you what you want if they have the ingredients. I have only ever had pasta and risotto so maybe the problems have been with the meat and veg type meals.

Very good food indeed. Our friends say "it is the best seafood pasta they have had on the island". Pizza very good as well. Probally just an "off night." as many good restaurants have at times.

Isn't the problem with restaurants in North Cyprus to do with consitency? How often has a restaurant been recommended to friends only for them to be let down and wonder what their friends were on about. Pastamania is a good case in point; following our recommendation after an excellent experience friends went and accused us of talking rubbish after an appalling meal and a disgraceful owner attitude.

For consistency of quality and service, try Efendi in the Kyrenia Turkish Quarter, The Old Grapevine, Carpenters, Erols at Ozankoy or Sabor, each different but consistently good to excellent every time. For good wholesome home cooked food in unpretentious surroundings and the best genuine burger in the Levant, try LD's on the University Road at Karaoglanoglu.... and if you restaurant owners read this, don't you dare let me down!!

hi,been visiting cypurs four 17 years now, have visited many, many resturants the best-far to many to say.many have now closed down since 1993. but what has gone wrong with pasta mania one of my favourites?went there twice in aug08 with a large crowd of 14 and once in aug07. all meals and service were excellent.the owner was very pleasant to all of us especially the children. going back in aug09.can it have really gone downhill that much in just one year? any bad experiences must have been just very bad luck.in all the years eating out in t.r.n.c i have never had a truly awful meal ,disappointing yes but never awful.is it just luck or is it because i avoid eating in the habour a major no no way overpriced in every way .happy eating out to you all in the t.r.n.c

well i can say hand on heart that we will never sell a frozen chip or any other veg for that matter. Our sweeds and parsnips are as fresh as they come as is all our other seasonal veg and salads. We only boil them and wash them in bottled water to add to thier freshness xxx

It started off well but I think they got carried away by their early success.

I agree that frozen chips and veg are a no-no in any TRNC eatery. The fruit and veg here are wonderful and inexpensive. Cyprus potatoes are the best ever.

It's the only restaurant I know that serves soup without any bread whatsoever - not available on request!!

The portions got smaller and prices have steadily increased.

There are several places that serve better pizzas for more reasonable prices.

I really don’t under stand why all these people have posted all these bad reports on pasta mania.

I went to pasta mania once on my friend’s recommendation and we fell in love with the restaurant. The food is 10 out of 10 at a very reasonable price, the staff is very helpful and bar man friendly. The restaurant has a very cool atmosphere and welcomes all to come. I must say the food portions are always more then enough for one. I would recommend any one who is looking to try a nice new restaurant in kktc to give pasta mania a go then decide for them self’s.

i must add i have been there many times and all times the food has been grate . I know my self if the chef makes a meal and is not happy with it . he will not send it. he will make it again and then tell the customer at his table why it was late him self.

I think most these negative comments are made buy other restaurant owners in Cyprus because of there successes in just one year.

Just back from a stay in N Cyprus and having recently visited Pasta Mania.

Been holidaying there now for a while and from my own personal experience had my best meal yet (peppered steak) from Pasta Mania. Mustafa the owner or manager (i think) was really pleasant and courteous even finding time to entertain the children in our party. Lovely little restaurant that's well worth a visit, but then that's only my opinion.

Just another small point i did notice was the amount of cars arriving at the restaurant when a lot of other restaurants we had visit didn't seem as busy.

It's not an Italian restaurant & it doesn't serve fresh pasta. There's no excuse for this IMO.

I was not impressed the first time we visited early on when it first opened, burnt Pizza, long wait etc, but I got dragged back there a few weeks ago, cos my boys love Pizza and I had to admit it was excellent, great Pizza and really lovely Garlic Bread, the best I have ever tasted.

Service was fine and timing was perfect, so we will def go again!

As others have psoted maybe they have goods and bad days!
