I think their is a shop on the High Street in Girne, on the left as you go towards the crossroads just next to the money exchange.

The best ones are from Nicosia There is one street that is full of T shirt & jeans shops just down from the mosque Don't buy the ones with S M or L for sizing go for the French sizing of numbers 5, or 7 etc .

Also watch out for collars being too big they get bigger when washed

I was told that the 'Genuine Fakes' were the ones made in the Turkish factory that supplies the' original trademark owner'.

They are supposed to be made on the same machines, with the same materials as the ones that they ship legitimately to the 'named company' - it's just that these come out of the back door...

Sort of: - one for them one for us, one for them TWO for us, one for them...

keithcaley - yes, we were told this when buying "genuine fakes" in Thailand, too.

Beware if you take these "fake" goods to Australia or New Zealand. If you get stopped and searched and they suspect that the intems are fakes they can, confiscate, confiscate and fine, or confiscate and put you in prison. They take the import of fake goods VERY seriously.

Good grief Timothy. My son went to Australia, via Thailand, and took loads of clothes bought in Thailand with him. Lucky he didn't get stopped, I guess@)

I can never understand why so many people want to wear designer labels plastered all over their clothes, i think companies should pay you to wear their labels !!!!

Genuine Lacoste garments are actually produced in Turkey with only the 'Made in France ' and 'crocodile' logo tag sewn on, imported from France.

When my sons were small and we went on Holiday to Turkey, we went into a shop that sold Lacoste T. Shirts they then sat us down while the boys chose colours etc, there was a woman sitting there sewing the little crocs on the t. shirts, but for the price we paid and that my sons were so happy to go home with lots of different colours, who cares, we knew by the price they were fakes. Not that they would wear fakes now, all that mattered is that they liked them at the time.

When my Sons were small we took them to Turkey for a holiday, looking round all the shops we decided to go into a little shop which sold Lacoste t. shirts etc, the owners made us sit down while the boys were choosing colours etc, well in the corner sat a little old lady sewing the crocs onto the t.shirts, although we knew they were fake by the price, but the boys were happy going home with loads of fasionable t.shirts (they thought) who cares. They lasted ages and had colours for every day of the week.

Now they wouldnt be seen dead in fake clothes. )
