Do they need to be cleaned or serviced in anyway? If so how and when etc?

Or do you just keep changing the large containers on the top and thats it?

I would flush it through once or twice a year with a dilute solution of ordinary domestic bleach - about one fluid ounce per gallon.

Drain, then rinse it through TWICE with a couple of pints of fresh water each time before use.

The above advice is from the instructions for my pressurised water sytem - it uses bottled water to feed the icemaker.

They do suggest four times per year, but of course an icemaker uses less water, so it's sat there longer...

Keith.

We have them in our offices so last time the guy came to service it he showed me how to flush it out which was just pouring a dilution down the top after removing the bottle and allowing that and then some water to flow through. He said for home use the best thing to use was Milton steriliser for babies bottles. Quite cheap he said and only needs doing every 3 months.
