I've read the story via the link provided above. I think it's disgusting BBC journalism to read this invitation at the bottom of the report: "Are you in the area where the attack occurred? What do you think the motive for it is? Are you elsewhere in Turkey and what are your thoughts about the story? Please send us your comments using the form below."

It's an invitation to idiots to give their unfounded "thoughts and suspicions". The BBC, in this case, has sunk to the level of some bulletin boards in North and South Cyprus. Very disappointing.

The BBC do this with many stories. We all carry mobile phones and can take and instantly send photo, texts and even emails. It's a way of getting first hand accounts very quickly. I don't know for sure, but would be surprised, if any responses weren't vetted in some way to filter out obvious untruths and comments designed to exacerbate bad situations.

Freedom of thought and speech is ourt greatest freedom, even if we totally disagree with the thought being expressed. Our ability to resolve disagreements rationaly, whether it be on a personal, national or international level, is one of the things that defines us.

My thoughts are also with the victims of this atrocity. Violence is NEVER the way to make your case, whatever it is.

Not sure which Dutch cafe shop you've been into today but facts are 44 persons are dead irrespective of which news agency first reported the tragic event. Try the Cyprus mountain hemp!
