The Saints, message 1. Well, I was born November 1950 and cannot get my State Pension until July 2010.This is on a sliding scale - those females born after June 1950, etc. etc. A dot on the cards, I reckon, for the male population to have to follow suit. Paul is 52 and so I can see him not being in receipt of a State Pension until he's well turned 70! Still, I suppose the Govt. has to save money somehow - how long until we're none of us entitled to a pension at all? J

Only way to guarantee a pension is to become an MP/MEP/SMP etc etc. You also get an added bonus of claiming for adult movies etc! while telling everybody else they cannot retire and just keep on working! reminds me of George Orwell's animal farm and the poor horse!(major if memory correct)

Have you all only just realised that the whole point to your miserable little lives is to keep the politicians and their army of hangers on in the style to which they feel they deserve And you should feel honoured to serve our dear leader in this way

Armed uprising is the only way these parasites will learn the error of their ways. 1984 is well and truly with us. What about that Asian Baroness who claimed £100,000 for a flat in Kent and had never lived there ????? The time has come....

No1..Nothing new in what the US paper has said about Gordon Brown.Everybody says its a forgone conclusion that he will lose the next election. But didnt this happen to the Tories as well, inside fighting,Sleaze, one PM having it off with one of his Female MP.They are all as bad as one another. If you think that things will be any better under the Tories, think again. They wont change the expenses fiddle,to much to loose, nor will they do anything about MP,s and Civil Servants Pensions,as for the ordinary man, they will let him work till he drops, always has been their phylosophy. The working class have always been fodder and will remain so.The so called "middle class" might get a couple of quid extra for a while, then they will have to suffer the same as us.It never changes does not matter who is running the country...

Hi Coachie. I'm afraid you are correct. Labour and Conservative goverments have succesfully ripped all of us off for decades. In won't change no matter who is in power. They are all very slick salesmen who give us their pitch and we all succumb to it. The laughing stock of the world. We've got no money. We owe hundred's of billions of pounds and still they are ripping us off, letting more and more people in, a benefit system out of control a health system about to crumble a Human Rights Act that is costing us billions.....where will it all end?

Another fat cat Sir Freds deputy at RBS will retire next year aged 60 he has earned £908.000 last year, his pension pot is worth £9.8million and he will get a yearly pension of £517.000. Government will not try to do anything about it although we own 70% of the Bank we will have to pay for his pension as well as bailing out the bank. A newly created post Government have now appointed a Swine flu 'Tsar' because the number of cases has reached 32, he will be called National Director for NHS flu resilience and will oversee vaccination programmes and supply of equipment and drugs! there is already a national director for pandemic flu preparedness. Talk about jobs for the boys, this is the labour government.

Woodspeckie..I agree that this guys pension is obscene, but has nothing to do with the Government, but the Board of the Bank at the time he was employed. They agreed his contract and it has to be honoured whether we like it or not.Break it and he will sue and he will win, simple as that..Now there is a case of "jobs for the boys" and not a government official in sight..Dont forget it was PRIVATE ENTERPRISE before it went bust..so blame SirFred and his cronies for this one and not Gordon Brown..

This is the answer to UK economy, we all send following letter to Mr Darling :- Dear Mr. Darling, Please find below my suggestion for fixing Britain 's economy. Instead of giving billions of pounds to banks that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, use the following plan. You can call it the Patriotic Retirement Plan: There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force. Pay them £1 million apiece severance for early retirement with the following stipulations: 1) They MUST retire. Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fixed 2) They MUST buy a new British car. Twenty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed 3) They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage - Housing Crisis fixed 4) They MUST send their kids (grand kids) to school/college/university - Crime rate fixed 5) They MUST buy £50 of alcohol/tobacco a week .....and there's your money back in duty/tax etc It can't get any easier than that!

woody. Thats nothing! One 'male' MP claimed two packs of tampax for £1.99 in 2005. One Labour backbencher claimed .45p for a bag of maltesers as part of a Focus DIY bill. A Labour junior minister claimed two packs of Pampers nappies at £5.95 each after he became a father. A london based Labour MP claimed £1741 for a granite worktop for his home. Jack Straw claimed £1700 in expenses to cover the costs of his council tax THAT HE NEVER PAID. Hazel Blears claimed for THREE properties in one year. Alistair Darling made multiple claims for properties for £2074 on furniture. They are ALL ripping us off.
