Any ideas about 5/6 mile walks around Merit Hotel or Kyrenia in general? Or any similar lenght walks elsewhere in North Cyprus.

Call Maureen/Tony Hutchinson on 0542 854 4329, they control all 'walks' if expenses can run to it! Richard

hi. why don,t you go to the HHH (hash house harriers) walks. They meet once a month (first Sunday of the month) and do lovely trails mostly in the Kyrenia area. Look in the Cyprus Today newspaper near the time for where the meeting point will be that month.. The charge is 1 tl for the walk and raffle..... (İ think) well last time i went it was that price.

Brinsley you make me laugh (in a nice way). - The Hutchinson’s do not control any walks! They run some flower walks (originally only from their smallholding); just very good publicity on their part. They may offer walks further afield these days. ---------- ------------ Through our experienced ground handlers IAH have been running spring walks with a local guide (who was qualified as a professional in the late 1990's) for nearly ten years. We can offer guided walks with professional experienced guides for reasonable private groups at any time of year. The HHH are great for local expats or maybe Yucel for small groups who do not want a full Tour Op package. Tom

There is a book (or two?) about walks in North Cyprus. I last saw them in the Green Jacket Bookshop which is now closed but I don't know where you would find this book now. Sorry to be unhelpful but maybe another member would know more about the book title and where you could find it.

I bought the book and it is ecellent with most of the trails in the Kyrenia area with only 3 down at the Karpaz. Additionally a site was advertised here regarding a new start up for a walking and hiking operation, I did email them and have not received a reply yet. They are hoping for TRNC approval and apparently will be non profit making, so a good idea. I will look for the contact details again and post them here for those interested.

There was an excellent series of walks published in the Cyprus Star by the excellent Brian Thomas. We have kept them all in a folder, all we need now is a bit of inspiration to get us going! Hope this helps. If you pm me I can arrange access to this portfolio of exercise if you like, or maybe Brian can help personally.
