Possibly one is shade temperature and the other is in full sun.

According to BBC Worldwide weather, Cyprus is forecast heavy showers for Sunday and Monday.

Still, how much can you believe of what the BBC claim

Hi eager,

My thermometer's now directly in the sun, normally in the shade.

When the sun moves round, obviously it'll get warmer

When sunbathing, you normally do it in the sun, which is warmer than the shade!!!!

The temp now, @ 17.10 is 28c, in the sun.

Enjoy it while it's here.

Hi stevie-d,

Used to go fishing off Helensburgh pier, and Craigendoran Piers.

Is Duran Duran's old boat, "Rio" still moored at Rhu?

I think it's still pretty cool. It's usually much warmer than this by now. I hope it's warmer tomorrow cos I'd like to go to the pool and let my legs see the sun - they're still white! (PS I will DEFINITELY NOT be going INTO the pool tomorrow!!)

Beautiful day here in Ayrshire, even warmer than yesterday. I agree it was not

as warm as usual in N.Cyprus last week when I was there, seen us swimming in

the sea in Apl. One rainy day, and windy still.

Delighted to say I have now met Sylvie, who took me to Guido's (1st time) where

I met Simbas and Lillia - oh and Guido! Best wishes to all of you. Looking fwd. to

next visit, when I will have a meal there, now I know where it is. Maybe meet Wyn

at last !

Stinking hot here in Oman! 43.5C yesterday and it's probably that now at 10.15am. 85% humidity in the early morning doesn't help either! Can't wait to get back to a relatively cool 30C or so when we are in Kibris next month!

Jock - that reminds me of a lovely young student when at Strathclyde whose

shirts always looked immaculate. When one older lady commented on his

Mum's good laundry, he told us he ironed his own as his mum was a widow

with business to run and didn't have time. Clever, good-looking, too!

Good for you too!

For jimchris09 whereabouts in Oman are you, anywhere near Seeb? spent a year in Oman in late 80's and found the heat/humidity worst than TRNC.

Spent 5 years in U.A.E., and visited Oman regularly. Muscat seemed to me hotter and more humid than

other parts, but interesting. Seeb sounds familiar but don't remember why. Was there in the 90's and

from Al Ain in U.A.E. you could cross over into Buraimi through a roundabout without any passport control.

Also 2 years in Bahrain - trouble there at time.

I came to Oman in late 80's! Just outside Seeb near RGO HQ. Temp was off the scale yesterday @10am which means over 47C!! A friend of ours went out on a boat yesterday afternoon and claims it was over 50! It never is officially of course as all outside work has to stop then!

yeah! Lets rub it in!!! Am swimming in the outdoor pool every day now at least once a day! The tan is coming along very nicely and we cook most evenings on the barbq on the terrace & enjoy a cool glass of wine! The weather is glorious indeed, one of the reasons I am here! Summer has arrived and everyone seems happier and friendlier! All the neighbours are getting to know eachother & we are doing things together, life is great!

I have extended family in Rainham, Kent (my mums' God daughter) and the family are our old London neighbours and friends, I remember it was beautiful there, we went strawberry picking and to some lovely beaches!

not really at the moment, we are looking at places to buy which will be great, no mortgage or rent & aways a good investment to rent in the future if we don't stay, my fiance is working & I am looking for some casual work, just taking it a day at a time really, he is from Turkey (we met there) from a town just across the water so we have his familly & friends relatively close by for support etc & we go over for holidays & shopping trips, food etc is so much cheaper there, my family came out to visit & had the best holiday ever! I have lived abroad for years & wouldn't go back to the UK, especially now in summer, am quite easily pleased going to the beach or pool or around the markets, I would maybe like to experience more local & cultural things, we do go out on day trips but sometimes you do feel that you are living in a holiday resort & there are lots of English people and fish and chips etc which is comforting in a way & everyone spks English but am trying to learn Turkish! Negative thing is everyone going on about how hard it is to get work here & work permits etc I think if you want to work you will always find it, I have never been so long not working in my whole life but haven't been looking really and it does feel a bit strange but nice too, we are not materialistic and don't need so much money to live on....Anyway I am determined to prove them wrong & maybe after summer look for a full time job just to have something to do and save some money etc

totally agree work will turn up must admit we are young and are lucky as we dont have to work. so have not got that to worry about . as long as the children are happy an looked after and we are together we just get on with it .do you think you will get bored not working at the moment or just enjoying the sun for now kim

just enjoying the sun for now, yes & have been busy looking at properties for sale!!! Am also learning Turkish, trying to write a book (in English!) and get my collection of poems published so not just being a beach bum all day but will look for some 'real' work soon too! Have emailed you off board!

Children are very adaptable and am sure they will enjoy the sunshine and relaxed way of life, also it seems to be very safe here, very low crime rate etc.

I think it's a good idea for people coming to live here to learn a bit of the language, you can defend yourself and stand up for yourself if you think you are being ripped off or treated as a tourist, I just think it can be very useful generally also...

You would expect people coming to live in Britain to speak more than

a bit of the language, wouldn't you?

Happy Birthday for 7 June (it's my father-in-law's birthday, too, but never mind)

The Saints - message 108 - Thanks, but am already 'stocked up'. Just thought I'd bring some out for 'the girls' in September, as it seems to be cheaper at home than from Avon lady in TRNC.

Thanks anyway.

The Saints - message 110. Sorry, I misunderstood your message 108. Of course - I can order some on e-bay and get it in time, hopefully to bring some out for others in June. Senior moment, obviously.

I am pleased that all has gone well with your new apartment.

Many thanks
