Good article but unfortunately not being written by a Greek Cypriot will take away some of its impact on GC opinions etc. Aussie

A good article, thanks Jock. For me the last paragraph says it all; In the end, it boils down to this: the Greek Cypriots have to decide what to do about the status quo in Cyprus. Whether they wish to seek a political solution at home or a legal remedy abroad? The inescapable conclusion is that to recover territory lost in 1974 requires some sort of Land for Sovereignty swap as in the Annan Plan.

The British courts if they enforce and only if will probably require the Orams to pay compensation in return for original Greek owner signing over all rights to the land and will set the price to be paid based on the levels envisaged by the United Nations Annan peace plan, to do anything else British courts would probably envisage as a clear breach of Orams human rights. Will the Greeks be happy with this of course not but it is the most probable outcome. Funny old world isnt it !

Well written? Are you sure? To me the sentence that sums up the writers attitude is this one "In the longer term, the property market will be more Turkified, with Turkish citizens replacing EU citizens forced to dispossession." In other words, bugger EU exchange land owners, we are ok because the Orams decision can't be enforced against us.
