When you say you 'tried' - what exactly do you mean?

a Negnick 1/10

More MSG than you could shake a stick at...

Felt awful for days after we ate there, and the owner is a right snotty so and so.....

One to avoid - try Chopsticks or China Garden (at least the staff are pleasant).

I was underwhelmed by my Bo Thai experience.

Small portions, felt uncomfortable with the owner/head waiter chap's strange manner and the food was just ok-ish! Wouldn't go again unless I heard they have improved by offering better value and that the owner had hospitality training. A shame as I like a good Thai meal.

Is the Bo Thai the only Thai restaurant in town?

I have eaten here twicw, the first time the menu consisted of small dishes and it was suggested that you needed 6 or so between you, which is why they may have seemed small, they were each accompanied by salad, rice or noodles though.

When I went back this year, the menu had changed to the usual starter, main course and dessert, which althoughI didn't think was over priced in the scheme of things, iImuch prefered the smaller portions, so that were able to try more.

The owner was fine with us I have no complaints.

I wasn't impressed either,I thought the food was very bland,as it was my first Thai meal,it was very dissapointing.I would have complained but our friends were treating us for the meal and I didn't want to appear ungrateful.

Went in hungry came out hungry .You live and learn.

Couldn't agree more with the negative comments. Small portions/big prices ( for what you get) I went as a guest to their St.Patricks night do. I've had more fun and better food at a wake. 20 quid for cold ham and pud and soup. Never, Never again. The only up side was that I wasn't paying - downside of course - I couldn't complain. I understand the patron was trained by the Basil Fawlty School of Restraunters. But he even missed out on the humour part.

Chopsticks although not Thai food of course is excellent. Small restaurant but big appeal. Greg. the owner with his wife she ( don't know how to spell it) are a great couple. Greg is the worst waiter in the world but it's all such fun and nothing is too much trouble !!!!

Chopsticks is just behind the Advocates offices in central Girne. Or if you know where fire station is - turn left at cross roads when station on your right from main road and Chopsticks is about 50m up on your right.

Must say this was disappointing for me. Food was somewhat lacking in appeal and the gentleman that resembled rupert the bear behind the bar was a cheerful little soul.

Wont be going there again or recommending it.

I think all of you plebs don't appreciate good food, I eat there weekly with friends and we have no complaints with food or owners, always excellent food and very friendly staff, the place is excellent. How can you compare it with China Garden. I have only eaten there twice and both times disgusting food, but that was a long time ago and wont go back again, thats my choice, but would not dream of slagging them. If you dont like a place to eat why slag it off you all sound like whinging Brits.

re message 22- everyone has their right to express an opinion and it does seem as though you are in the extreme minority on this one!

We have not eaten there ourselves but will certainly give it a try and form our own opinion when we are next over there. We called on the off chance during our last visit in March but could not get in as they had some sort of function that evening.

Mess 22 - Carbotec - You are either a mate of the bloke who owns the place, or from planet Zogg....

the owner is a miserable g*t - The portions are small, the food is well below average, the prices are above average and the amount of MSG in the food made me feel ill for 2 days.

I'd rather sleep with Garry Monger's missus than eat there again - and that's saying something...

Re mess 22 - for someone who would not dream of slagging of places where they has eaten you are not doing a bad job on the China garden - everyone to their own opinion
