Hi everyone, has anyone been to the music festival at Belapais Monestary? Some of my family love classical music and i can't think of a more beautiful setting.

Haven't been but my parents want to go. Does anyone know when the next one is as we haven't seen any advertisements for them this year yet?

The Bellapais festival starts on the 21st May. The programme is still being organised and won't be published till nearer the time.

The same people are organising the Lefke International Arts Festival which runs from the 2nd to the 12th March. They do not have a web site. I'm not sure if the programme has been published yet, but you can get a smeak preview here http://www.whatson-northcyprus.com/whatson/events/annually/lefke_arts/2008_info.htm

Also there is a series of concerts provisionally planned from the end of April for about 3 weeks. I don't have any information as yet, but hope to have something by the tail end of March.

this great we go out on 18th May for ten days and this will be at the top of the list. We normally find that when we are on holiday or having a break they have just finahed or start the day we go home.

Hi Simma,

I have been to concerts in the abbey and they were excellent with good acoustics. As a tip, go early and eat in the restaurant in the abbey grounds with the view over Kyrenia and the sea. Really special at sunset.

Hi all

Thanks for information and tip re dining at the restaurant first. We have never managed to be there at the right time to attend a concert. This time we might just get lucky as we arrive early May for two weeks.

Regards

Julie
