We have been going to Alkan for several years (not to stay but to use pool and eat there) we visited there recently for diner and was very disappointed the value for money was poor the food was nice but just really small portions we all left still hungry

Whilst i am mostly reluctant to put a business down, must admit the owners walk in and out of the kitchen smoking, put their fags on the counter ash tray then serve food. Not entirely giving a good impression.

We encountered this in Stevies bar, Went for a meal it had been recommended by friends. Sat down enjoying meal when a group of people sat down at next table, all lit up, never asked if it was ok. I was just going to ask Steve to have a word with them, when I noticed he was actually carrying food with a ciggarette in his fingers. Paid and left, we will not be going back and will tell friends not to bother.

when passing we always stop and eat there.

we have never had a bad meal or been left hungry!

we have been going there for about 6 years!

i would highly recommend this place for a decent meal at a reasonable price.

Firestarter...why do you always have to give cryptic answers, like as if you have extra special information, do you do this to simply look clever,or do you actually know more than anyone else...? If you do actually know more than everyopne else, why don't you just say what you mean and be done with it???!!!

dd,

i was told about this last week from the people who are setting it up. A friend of a friend who was at my house.

hence i don't want to steal someone elses glory!

i guess in that respect maybe i do know more than everyone else, and i respect my friends.

i gave out the info so that people can look out for it when it opens, nothing more, nothing less.

i don't need to look clever, smart people never do.

Well i think if you are not in a postion to tell the full story, it's probably much better to keep the small amount of knowledge to yourself or until it is permissable to let everyone know the full story as it is highly irritating to read snippets, this is how rumours start!! But surely smart people would realise this??

yes but how does that work ?!! you would have to keep your finger on the lighter to start a fire otherwise the flame goes out, whereas you can throw matches onto petrol you cant throw a lighter ! being a firestarter you should know that one !

Hi fire starter,

daisy dukes is right, if you weren't at liberty to tell all, then you shouldn't have said anything. It does not

look good, leaving a tale half finished. The area down at Esentepe needs some good news to attract families and holiday makers. Is this project on the boards for this season or is it just at the drawing board stage, or even worse pie in the sky?

Sunday mornings, a couple of hours fishing and watching the sun rise and then the occasional spoil of the full breakfast. Alkans do you proud.
