Hi

Normally I stay at the Pia Bella. However I am visiting soon with my wife and youngest son and find the Colony (which I thought normally out of my price range) is cheaper than the Pia Bella.

Has the colony gone down hill or is this a bargin.



Please help, cant afford to upset the better half

It maybe due to the lack of tourists...and i'm told the hotel is in a lot debt, only the casino is actually making money. But as usual this may not be true....rumours do tend to go a bit haywire here....

Probably cheaper due to the building work going on next door. Think it is a shopping mall plus underground carpark.

I stayed at the Dome Hotel every summer Holiday for 12 years and I cant praise it enough, the food is Superb and if your only having Breakfast thats to die for. They have two pools one is a salt water pool and the other is normal. If I were you before booking get their websites up and have a look at the Colony and The Dome will be worth it before making a choice.

Hi Ian. I love the colony and particually the roof top. It depends how old your son is because I dont think its very child friendly. Its very central though.

Friends stayed at the Colony in April and thoroughly enjoyed particularly the roof top pool. Were on a BB deal so did not sample food at lunchtime or dinner. Good location when not hiring a car. There deal was with Green Island holidays at a cost of £243 for a double room for 7 nights.



Small criticism with reception as there seemed to be a lack of communication between housekeeping and themselves. Also, despite the bill being settled the night before they left they were presented with a bill, on the morning of their departure, for coffee and brandy in the bar the previous evening! Apparently someone [unknown to them] ordered this and said to put it on our friends room number BUT it was not signed for and when our friends queried the bill the hotel could therefore not charge them.



They would recommend the Colony and they would stay there again.
