Hi asking price for most things is way,way too high, thats just what i think,!! invest your money and Rent.that way if you find yourself not too happy, you can always move on.people we know have just moved on to main land Turkey...

and most people i talk too, wish they could sell up and do the same...

Good luck,Spider.x

Pre-74 would be far safer but hey this is North Cyprus and you never know for sure.

Getting a bit worried...Are you saying that I could spend my hard earned cash on a Pre 1974 Turkish title and then find it isn't one?

No...the problem is more that people who have bought Pre-74 Turkish Title Deed properties (myself included) are still awaiting Permission To Purchase years after "buying" their property.....and there have been a few articles suggesting that it is part of a covert policy by the TRNC to deny ownership of these deeds to us "foreigners".

Pre-74 deeds ARE the best.....but still do be wary !

Goodness,gracious me!

I am starting to get worried. Maybe this isn't the right time to buy. I thought it would be more plain sailing for a Pre 74 Turkish Title but maybe not!

The trouble is that I want to get a bit of that North Cyprus magic. I've looked at property in southern Cyprus but I can't get over how many people seem to forget that the GC's lost heir lands there and actually the homes being built in the south could be on that land just as much as the reverse case scenario.

Mixie its a buyers market but fraught with all the problems the members tell you. It can be done but only with the help of a advocate you totally trust an agent you totally trust and sadly that word is missing here. You have to come rent and do your homework on the ground. Good luck with it xxxxxxx

What about if you buy a re-sale property that already has the deeds in the buyer's name and just needs changing to yours and they are TRNC freehold deeds? This is less worrying, cheaper and safer no?! Or does it take just as long to change the deeds' name and to you have to buy new deeds each time???

Thanks

Natx

There is factual and anecdotal evidence this is true.

Sienna, Firestarter was only replying to my post.

I think anyone who has money to spend on a property at the moment would be better of 'investing' in a property in the UK, rent for a few years until the prices increase.

Mixie...if you are serious about buying here you really must do your research...more so than many other places in the world.

Type "Permission To Purchase" in the google search at the head of the page and the uncomfortable truth will be revealed !
