Josephine.....I don't know whether you've already tried and failed...but why use an agent?

At best they are a shop window to advertise your property to a wider audience and that's where it ends.

Doesn't sound much for a 5% plus commission does it?

We've got a number of agents but I have little or no faith in most of them after 6 months. When you consider the 5% they will earn should they be successful in fixing you up with a buyer (one company charges 6% for the priveledge and they are useless), a private sale is the way to go. I know a guy who and runs a website where you can advertise your property for a low cost and no commission in the event of sale http://www.lincguide.com

Good luck - there are buyers out there, despite all the gloom and doom!

josephine there is a lot of criticism of agents but lets face it they are having a tough time its difficult to sell property at any price most of the buyers are vultures looking for someone in difficulty. When I purchased I spent 3 days with agents and I must say although I did not buy through North Cyprus International the assistance they provided was second to none and when a purchase fell through the deposit I had left with NCI was returned..without a battle.

How do you sell your property privately with the new estate agency law?

Wasn't there something in it once saying that you had to sell via an agent or

1. did that change?

2. I've got it all wrong?

Msg. 9

If you are not selling more than 3 properties in a year, permission to sell without an Agent is readily given. No fuss, no husstle, just find the buyer with the right money.

Try http://www.sunbeamsestate.com. Photos taken and put on their web site within hours of visiting your property. They advertise your property on the web,in the Property magazine and in their office. They also advise you on the best way to "market" your property. As in what to put into the property to make it more attractive etc.

Thanks AJ and Elko2,

it is a while since I sold a property and had heard 'rumours' about what you can and can't do as a private seller!
