An excellent article by the, ex Cyprus Foreign Minister.Proving that many in the South realise the problems will not be solved with the flag waving over the Orams nor delight at Turkey being prevented from joining the EU.
If more men with his political acumen were involved on both sides, eventual agreement would be a foregone conclusion.
Having read a few articles in The Cyprus Mail ,they seem to be the closest we will get to reading non blinkered reasoned argument in their articles,Obviously they have GC slant and we might not agree, but they rarely print the sort of bile one gets in the likes of the Cyprus Forum. |

Its good to know that there is a kind of meeting of some minds across the divide,people who look beyond the popularist sound bites.
Mind you ,even a soundbite would be better than the nothing coming from the TRNC at the moment. |

| mr rolandis should have done more when he had the chance in office. Its easy to see mistakes when its too late. |

Maybe so, but thats history .Maybe he wanted to .
Remember who was in power, people who had no time for the Turks in the north,never mind even talking to them.
At least he is attempting to present a broader view that can be easily understood by all sides,without the point scoring.
Anyway his is not the only article in Cyprus Mail over the last year that looks at the Cyprus situation instead of the Greek Cypriot situation. |
