ronaldo - normally, I would agree with you, but in the matter of TRNC it seems to work in the reverse, i.e. "all publicity is bad publicity" - unfortunately. J

Unfortunately the TC's appear to miss every opportunity to actually put their point across, whether at the EU, objections to the GC Judge (related to another property dispute between GC v Turkey) sitting at the Orams ECJ hearing, or just generally. I cannot decide whether it's apathy or just burying their heads in the sand and hoping the World will actually see the reality of the 74 intervention (by some miracle) without them pointing out the wrongdoings. Quite Bizzare really. Why doesn't someone in authority actually speak out? What are they waiting for? The opportunity to get involved in these programmes has undoubtedly been missed, so yet again, it will be biased. Nothing new there then..... Yawn.

arbee msg 9, perhaps trnc propaganda is pretty shambolic... but you surfacing on this forum speaks volumes for as frankie goes to hollywood puts it "when two tribes go to war a point is the most you can score" oh and time for your reality check: cyprus is partitioned, and it always will be indeed

arbee, I am sure that if you know the meaning of 'arsiktir' as you so clearly do, you are quite capable of translating without any outside assistance.

arbee, your comments above show you are well-informed on the cyprus "question" and you are obviously highly committed to one side of the "argument" I would be loth to criticize since everyone is entitled to their "own" opinion but you were the first to use the word reality in this thread... in reality there is no forseable end to the partition of cyprus! and I am convinced we will all have to make the best of the situation this is due to turkey being the regional great power, also because the roc feels unable to compromise (and why should they?) surely yesterday's dream of a single state using the label "democratic" is rather wasted on a north cyprus forum freshley-emerged from the hacker's axe please forgive me if I misunderstand yourmotives

arbee msgs 20, 22, 23 "turkey wants in to the eu and north cyprus may well be the price" but visit the trnc and the locals reply "eh?" when you mention talks in turkey itself I doubt that very many of the 75 million population would surrender north cyprus at the point of any eu popgun sadly for you guys no such trade-off is evenon offer anyway... france and germany who control the eu don't want turkey in, ever as regards talk of a "settlement" I admit to some bafflement the talks continue, because neither side is willing to take responsibility for pulling out first with little sign of compromise from you-know-where, and no sign of abandoning the trnc from you-know-who and a bad settlement is worse than none, think "1960" in your heart of hearts arbee you know all of this so with the greatest of respect I suggest you look to your business which keeps you so busy, stop bending our ear'oles and find a forum more in accord with your views

Well depending which TV Schedule you use Meditteranean Nightmares may not be this weeks programme. On Sky it says it's a programme about MP's Expenses, but the listings on ITV.com and Freeview says it's Meditteranean Nightmares. Suppose we'll have to wait and see!

message 25 arbee: "there will be concessions from from both sides to acheive a solution" will there be? it looks very far-fetched to me... why would anyone imagine otherwise I wonder only perhaps if the individual has powerful reasons to hope it might be so: I believe the technical term is "wishful thinking" andre

Dear Andre_514 In April 2004 Turkey seemed quite happy to allow Cyprus to re "re-unified" and to only leave 950 troops on island. Why do you think it will be any different when the GCs "wake up" and realise it was the "best" deal in town.. if there is another opportunity. With the greatest of respect... noting to comments to Arbee.. why do YOU seem to believe things can continue as they are.. when you KNOW that TCs are / have been effectively "buggered" by the lunacy of a "declaration of independence" which has made them anything but... Currently, GCs and TR dictate "policy"... I hardly think that is what *real* TCs want ..

Apparently good old Trev Mac has got Greek Cypriot mates so no prizes for guessing which way the programme is going to go! I still remember the last one he did in 2005 with Greek Cypriots crying outside their former properties

mark, I can see where you're coming from yes the 2004 deal may have been sensible but both sides no longer accept its principles in particular the public in north cyprus will not now agree to hand over guzelyurt and varosha and their fears are constantly reinforced by the isolation and blockade campaign still rolling on, ever painful but always futile some of the south's demands are not intrinsically unreasonable (ie control of the airspace, one man one vote, a single umbrella state and of course the return of properties despite mainland turks moving in) except for their historical record which is pretty disasterous... and the north and turkey will not agree to any of this anyway while france and germany shall not let turkey join the eu in our lifetimes I agree wholeheartedly things just cannot continue as they are: so end these sham talks and let's free trnc from the shackles of isolation
