The Chateau Lambousa is in Lapta just off the main strip. Coming from Kyrenia take the LH turn after LA Hotel and the first LH turn thereafter. Parking is available both in the car park and on the Northern field. Please do NOT park on the drive or just under the gatehouse as doing so impedes other vehicles. The proper parking areas are adequate and you will find spaces there.

At the moment all doughnuts are 3tTL. The shop will later hold different varieties of cakes with individual prices, jam doughnuts will remain the same price.

If you want to compare prices with the UK then I suggest you go there to buy them! If you buy a local cake in any supermarket it will set you back 2/3TL. Its up to the individual whether they think its worth the money so dont slag it if you have no idea whats on offer.

This isn't the UK and Tescos are not here selling doughnuts for 99p for 6. Cakes (English) are and will stay a luxury here. I would like to see real cream cakes (eclairs and apple turnovers!) here, but that ain't going to happen here when you can't even get real cream.

TRNC I am assuming that these doughnuts are home made...and it costs nothing like 3tl to make one...as you say Tesco sells 6 for 99p and they still make a huge profit..

Best doughnuts I tasted were in Bahrain, and the Americans thought they were just like their own. All kinds of fillings, and they didn't charge anything like over a £1 each! They are lot of calories though!

Put into oiled tartlet tins to prove in a warm place for 20-30 minutes. 5. Heat the oil to 180C/360F. Deep fry the doughnuts for 3-5 minutes, drain on absorbent kitchen paper and roll in the remaining caster sugar.

dee, What I was implying was that Tesco is a huge company that churn out millions of doughnuts every day. They buy their ingredients v.cheaply too, no doubt. Difficult to compare them with a kitchen industry making a few dozen. If Vanilla is doing this as a business, she also has to make a profit. She's not doing it to sell us home-made cakes at cost, just to make us happy and fat. If we don't want to pay 3TL for one, fair enough, but we are all grown-up and provided we know what things cost, we choose to buy or not. I hardly call that "ripping-off".

But there is demand here as we cannot get what we know as proper doughnuts ...and that is why they will be 3tl ...still too much for a single doughnut.

What you cheap-skate Brits always forget is the cost of running a business here - if it is a registered business, they are entitled to a profit. Comparing them with Tescos is an absolute joke! We can do without penny pinching illegal Brit workers wanting everything for nothing. Get back to the UK and do your shopping at Tescos.

Actually to make these Doughnuts takes special machinery, if anyone would like to buy these and make their own, please do, it will set you back a few bob though. if anyone thinks they can do better, please let me have a taste. I have bought from the Greek side, which are not as fresh or as big and little jam. The ingredients is slightly different here and as we all know things have increased. I'm not forcing anyone to buy one, we all have our own opinions and choices. We are making the jam from fresh Strawberries and can do fresh cream, if people require these i would suggest to order them to keep them fresh.

I bought 3 doughnuts in the south yesterday at Deberhams and paid over 6 euros for them and they weren't even that fresh, I wouldn't normally have paid that much but it was a treat for the kids. I would pay 3 tl for your Doughnut Vanilla if it means not having to bake in the summer heat, actually baking full stop. Can't wait till your shop opens Angela
