Cottage cheese and sour cream are the about the only thing I can't get hold of over here. Oh and Vegemite but I can't get that in the south either. Love the stuff, if anyone sees it the uk, I would love a jar, can pay for it when you get here!!!!

Cottage cheese and sour cream are available at the main Hur Deniz shop in Girne (although not cheap).

Instead of sour cream use the Russian 'smetana' which is becoming more readily available as more and more Russians move here - Russians cannot live without smetana.

I used to love Spangles. Does anyone remember the 'Old English' flavours - humbugs, cough candy, liquorice, etc.?

Don't miss any of all that fatty, unhealthy stuff. Enjoy the local food, simple, and wholesome

and much more tasty than all the manufactured stuff we have to put up with these days in U.k
