Various general questions regarding a hopeful move to TRNC

Hi All



Does anyone have any thoughts on whether it is a good or bad time to buy in TRNC?



If the case for direct flights to Ercan is won, will property prices increase?



In view of the Orams case would it be best to wait?



Also, has anyone used BORAY developments for a purchase and if so, was everthing OK?



Last, but not least, what can you expect to pay for a reasonable condition car?



I know people on this forum are very clued up with their experience of TRNC, ad I feel sure that you will be able to assist.

Gremlin....might I suggest that you use the search facility at the top of the page and type in your keywords....Direct flights....Orams.....Cars.....Sale items....Boray...etc etc and you will get the benefit of a multitude of past posts which may answer your queries.

The time is only right when YOU are ready to move.

No

No...The case will go on for years yet and then there is the small problem of actually taking physical hold of their property. Before that happens the TRNC Police and Government will have anyone claiming that the property is theirs thrown ain prison and the key thrown away.

Buy there finished developments. Then you know what you're getting.

£5,000 to £10,000 depending onmake and model. Expect to pay nearly double what the value would be in the UK.

Excuse me, I'm probably going to get shot in the foot for asking or everyone will think I'm dumb, but can somebody tell me what's going on? I'm soooooooo green about who is posting what! Is this bogus? Was the other flurry of postings about kimandneill bogus? Who's doing this and why? What purpose does it serve to wind people up with ficticious moves to TRNC?

LoopyLoo, We are all a bit suspicious, because we are getting new posters on a daily basis ask in the same questions over and over, they usually ask, on post one, then never return, there is a search engine at the top of the page (google) that will tell you everything ever discussed on here.

Loopyloo - I see that you're quite new to the forum. There have been quite a few problems in the past with these 'double posters' - stick around and you'll see for yourself. No, you're certainly not dumb and you'll soon 'get the hang of it'.



As to why people do this is anyone's guess. Maybe they're just saddos.

hi im new on here too and finding it a bit confusing but trying to get the 'hang of it'.

have been coming over to TRNC for about 6 years and have had a property over there for 2. Planning to live out there for part of each year.

Re Msg 20 - Thanks Jean, I think I'm a little niave and either think people simply wouldn't be up to mischief or am flabbergasted as to the reasons why when I realize they have been! I also can't understand why people get so wound up and start abusing each other. It's really odd behavior for adults - reminds me of Alf Garnet on the telly years ago.

People are strange Loopyloo!



Some actively hacked this site and then there are some who want people to be afraid of coming to the TRNC mainly because they have a GC perspective of the Cyprus question! Who knows what really motivates these people! Perhaps they get kicks out of getting a reaction from those who have already bought and are living in the TRNC - or they want to put off as many potential investors or those seeking to choose TRNC for a place to live.



Perhaps a solution could be that anyone asking for detailed information on 'moving to the TRNC' should be more strongly vetted by administration! I am not sure how this would work but I am sure the boffins could come up with a suitable mechanism! May be if there are many negative posts then admin should be able to contact these people directly - telephone / email and sort out if they are bona fide enquirers!

I have lived here in TRNC for 3 years now and would never move back to UK. Yes there are a few problems with PTP taking time and so on, food prices rising, but on the whole I have the sun every day, a beautiful view of the mountains to wake up to every morning and can only say- Life is for living, don't worry about what might happen. The Cyprus problem has gone on for years and will probably continue for years. People are still buying here. It's a lovely place to be, enjoy it now! Good Luck whatever you choose to do!
