Hi, A little 'scotty' type dog appeared on my patio this afternoon. It's very friendly and well fed, and is obviously someone's pet as it's wearing a smart leather collar with silver studs. To save it from getting run over, I've tied it to a telegraph pole near my drive, so that the owner will see it if they are looking for it. It's down the road alongside Green Petrol in Alsancak, just in case it's yours, or you know who's it is... Here's a picture: - http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2463/3551670634_5e3129cfd0_o.jpg Keith.

Hi Liz, I should have mentioned that he looks like he's just had a 'short back and sides', which must have cost someone a few bob! He wanted to make friends with my cats, but they were all (5) terrified... I hope the owners come looking for him before it gets dark. Keith.

Just went out to feed it, and put it to bed, and it's gone! The collar would have had to be unfastened to release it, so presumably the owner found it. Funny thing was, as I rolled up clutching a tin of cat food, the lady from the farm opposite arrived with a plate of chips for the dog - and we both stood looking at the empty rope! Keith.

Oh Lilli you are a magnet darling. I loves you. x I couldnt live there. Holidaying was enough to see the horrors endured by some poor creatures. Bless you and Keith too, and everyone (too many to mention here but you know who you are) who care for the unloved, uncared for, and unwanted. The sad waifes and strays of life. By the grace of whichever god you believe in, we all walk this life in our present form, able to enjoy life's pleasures. Think of the misery these poor creatures have to endure day in day out, through no fault of their own. Who would ever want to be reincarnated as a TRNC stray?

Good God Liz, What time where you wandering about the countryside, dispensing dog food? Just saw your post, and it reminded me to go out and fetch the water bowl back in (don't want mozzies breeding in it!) - I see the chips had gone, probably my greedy cats! Saw a Mummy cat and four tiny little kittens as well this morning, on the other side of the road, at the edge of the orchard - they only look to be about 3 or 4 weeks old. I assume that they belong to the farm - well that's what I'm telling myself... I really can't have any more! It never ends does it? Keith.

He's BACK! - Well, he WAS... about 5pm today, there he was again in my garden! Anyway, I thought "he's got to be local", so I took him for a walk, and eventually I met someone who recognised him, they said " he belongs to Mr Mustapha, last house on the left before the American base" - that's just round the corner from me, so off we went. Hey presto! Mrs Mustapha and dog have joyfull reunion, my cats relax, everybody happy. If only everything in life was so simple...
