Alsancak Belediyesi fly tipping

We witnessed a large Alsancak Belediyesi dumper truck fly tipping building rubble on private land opposite our villa. We and our neighbours had already paid the Belediyesi to remove previously fly tipped waste from this land. Despite our protestions, the driver continued to dump saying that he had been instructed to. We went to the offices and spoke to the english speaking accountant and Mayor, who advised the rubble was required to assist road widening work. Today, all the rubble has been bulldozed into the beautiful cane fringed little ravine opposite the farm. What future does this hold for the environment here in the TRNC, when pubic officials act in this criminal manner.......

So sad - I agree with Little Nige - irresponsible officials should not just be embarrassed over this, heads should roll...
