Apparently the famous Hungarian state circus is coming to the TRNC. It will be on between 1-8th June at the Ataturk Sport Stadium in a specially erected tent. It will be on twice a day (in the morning and in the evening). According to the Turkish press, the Greek Cypriots tried to get the circus to go there, but they declined and decided to come here instead so I think we should all support them and go along. It is the first time an international circus has been to the North. Apparently tickets are available from Orac Turizm or Deniz Plaza shops.

I wouldn't have thought that they can bring lions etc to Cyprus due to quarantine issues etc, but it might be worth asking the organisers. I think it is more about clowns, acrobats, magicians etc. The Tulips cancer charity did a circus a few months ago near the Wednesday market in Kyrenia. It was only small not on the scale of the Hungarian circus, but the only animal was an albino python

Dogs and pigeons. No horses or exotic animals. Where do you draw the line. If you object to performing dogs, do you also object to pet dogs? I'm with Lilli. Let's support them. Ian

I've seen behind the scenes at a circus, these were dogs, not nice, I reported them, I'm not saying they are all the same, just that I wont be going x Remember Chipperfields, they were world famous, but exposed and closed down for extreme cruelty as was Blackpool Tower zoo, sorry it just upsets me xx

Look forward to seeing people there, it will be nice for the children as they do not have much to do over here and miss out on alots of things over in England. Look forward to having a fun time at the circus with our child.
