Went years ago when our son was about 16. Anything for a quiet life! Horrendous, as far as we were concerned - our son loved it. No beach nearby. Hassled to the point of violence by waiters. Great clubs (apparently). Not for us (we were around mid-forties at that time). We did find some very nice restaurants eventually. But, horses for courses, I'd say. J

Yes, once for the day on a cruiseship. That was enough for me. Have you thought of Kusudasi. Lovely place. Olu Deniz - even better. Do some research. There are some really lovely places in Turkey. Bodrum is not one of them though IMO.

I went with a friend while working in Turkey and I remember it as being enjoyable, hot, and some interesting historical sites. Believe it has developed a lot since then

I think Bodrum is a very nice place. Agree with the person or people who said you can get hassled outside restaurants and shops and stuff but go anywhere in Cyprus, Greece or Turkey and you get the same. Good nightlife though in Bodrum and its a pretty place. Lovely Harbour. Marmaris is supposed to be nice although i havent been. Its your typical tourist destination so dont know if you like that or not, personally i wouldnt as i imagine the 'hassle' there would be worse. Side and Alanya are nice too, though much better hotels in Side. And not been to Olu Deniz though would like to go as it looks lovely.
