We bought ours from the gravel place next to the Acapulco Hotel. We did get a friend to ring that was a tc as they get a better price. We paid 380TL per large lorry load of which we were informed it was approx. 20 tonnes. They did grey, brown and mixed.

They had different sizes and we purposely didn't want the very small stuff as we didn't want to provide a litter tray for the local cats as what has happened with one of our friends.

The size we bought, on average, were about 1 to 1.5cm but when they are loading the gravel into the wagon you will find that they can pick up the small stuff at the bottom of the pile.

When you go anywhere to buy this always pick up a handful and take it home so that when they deliver you know and have a sample of what size you ordered. Luckily we had no problems.

We also made sure we were at home when they delivered and each time asked them to give us a sample of the load so that we could see how far down the driver dropped into the back of the wagon just to make sure we had a full load because we couldn't see over the top of the lorry even standing on the wall as it was a large lorry.

Not that we are mistrusting of course!

John,

I didn't want white and also shied away from all grey, which I know is very popular but we did have a very large area to cover so decided to go for the mixed, it also seemed to fit in with sandstone coloured walls etc.

As I said previously, I got the driver to jump in and get me a sample of his load before he dumped it, then I could see how far he dropped ie up to his knees each time.

The white stuff will probably look good in small area's for decorative effect but on large area's, I would agree, it would be too dazzling.

Good luck.

John,

our mixed was greys and browns. I actually didn't see any at this site that was reds and greys so your builder is probably getting it from somewhere else.

hi there it might be a bit late but i no a place where you have a variety of colour choices and at a reasonable price. the only thing is that they will need to know how much you need, big lorry, small lorry etc. If you wish you could let me know and i could find out a price for you. I also do garden landscaping and maintenance if you are interested.
