Just a thought on UK shipping agents. They have to take a view on UK VAT. Some think that as Cyprus is in the EC they should charge it, others believe it's part of Turkey and don't. It made a considerable difference to the quotes that I obtained when moving. In the end I chose a small but efficient local to me UK company. Don't forget to add marine insurance to quotes.

I would recommend Olaytrans - they go with you to the customs and police station in Lefkosa and make it as painless an experience as possibe. Our frineds have recently used them and have nothing but praise
