Anybody recommend a good upto date North Cyprus visitors guide book.

I already own Landmark Visitors Guide - Northern Cyprus but this is the 2000 issue.

This is a very good book and I believe there is a 2006 edition but I don't want to buy this if it is basically the same book with minimal changes.

Check out the rough guide to cyprus. Easy to read, informed and reliable. However it is a big book to carry round as it is divided into north and south information and also lots of information on history and politics. A few case studies from GC and TC add to the readers interest. Some sad accounts so not happy clappy holiday reading. Good maps and lots of information on where not to visit as well as the must sees. Pick it up in Smiths and see if its your cup of tea before purchasing but its been well used in our house.

Cheers Bradus,

Not too many specific North Cyprus books in Smiths or Waterstones, tend to have to buy them online which means you can't check them out first.

Also don't like the combined books, usually more info on the south than the north so I'm paying for something I don't want.

But thanks I'll take a look at the rough guide.

Loby.

Thanks everybody for replying,

Because I've already got an old copy of Landmarks North Cyprus I've decided to buy the latest Bradt travel guide.

Purchased the Bradt Travel Guide in the end and it's a good upto date book, not a lot of quality photographs though but lots of info. Even mentions Tatlisu three times (though only saying the road ends there).

My old Landmark guide book has better photographs but as I said previously I didn't want to buy the same book in case it hadn't been updated enough.

All in all two good specific guide books to North Cyprus.

That is something we really need, a book shop. Since the closure of the Green Jacket a couple of years ago there isn't really any decent book shops around. I know there is the one in Catalkoy but that's mainly re-sells.
