Hi all... Well, I come out to my new apartment 2 weeks today! I can't wait.....Have got everything crossed that the snagging's done and furniture's in.....don't think my Mum will enjoy 'crashing' on the floor! Anyway....Now although we're coming over to lots of work!! I love eating and drinking out.....i've got some info on restaurants...but would love a brief idea of your fave's! ...think I know the good Indian (though that'll be with the girls in April) I'm more into local food; fish and meze's really..... So, any info would be gratefully received! Cheers all... Jobee

In Esentepe go to the Esentepe Restaurant (first restaurant you come to at the top of the hil on right hand side). From the outside it doesn't look inviting but its a locals place. Very good food. Limited menu but love it there. Karen

Hi Jobee I really enjoy Hasan's hospitality at the Esentepe Restauraunt, the meals mainly consist of Chicken, lamb or fish with a starter of meze's and home cooked bread. On a Wednesday evening in the Summer Months Rosie puts on a nice meze with a choice of Mixed Kebab, Klefteco and chops. I also enjoy Tumba's run by Shefki smashing lad with a superb personality some say his prices are a little higher and again his menu is mainly local foods however if you enjoy Pork Chops, he's well worth a visit. Then you have the Esentepe Hotel where you have a menu which includes Steaks. On the Main Road from Tatlisu to Esentepe you have Antique and Alkans where I sometimes expect to see John Cleese and the Fawlty Towers Staff. Further up the road and if you want something up market there is the new Golf club where I am informed you can get a beautiful meal, however I have not tried it yet. The beauty is though in about Two weeks time you will be able to take all the time you want to find what you like and hopefully point us in the direction of many more Restaurants that are opening in the region. Bon Appetite. Jarra

We can definitely recommend the restaurant at Korineum Golf Club. We were there in October and were really really pleased with the meal - very good and not badly price either. We have also eaten at Tumba's in Esentepe twice and can recommend it. We sat outside in October and it was a beautiful view. Ambience in Karalanglou is also excellent.

| Another one not mentioned, well two actually are the Eagles Nest at Bachelli (wonderful views but prices have increased over the past couple of years) and Naizi (you now need to go through a new housing estate to get to this place), family run restaurant which is between Esentepe and Bachelli. signs/directions for both of these are on the main road. | We used to stay at Alkans when our house was being built and funnily enough even then it was classed as the turkish version of Fawlty Towers. Not quite sure who Manuel was though but Alkan is defintely Basil. Karen |

Hi we were over in October and had a fantastic lunch at the golf course, was amazed that the price was so reasonable. more down to earth, we like the Antique bar, very friendly, good food and to entice you back, free drinks and extra tasies, did the trick with us!

The best local food east of Esentepe, in our opinion, is at the Tatlisu Belidesi sea-front restaurant. Now the new road is in, it is located approx 10 mins drive east from the Tatlisu roundabout. Welcoming staff, great food, fantastic setting and cost precious. We live in Bahceli and ALWAYS take our visitors there, plus eat there ourselves. My wife still maintains their chicken is the tastiest/softest here and I love their fish menu. However, there are a number of local eateries opened recently in the Tatlisu/Bahceli/Esentepe area offering local or Indian food. The beauty is, being located 'in the wilds', we do not occur the Girne/Lapta strip hordes in the summer months. Whatever, enjoy!!
