Ibo's Sunday market. We went at about 12 noon,- saw no stalls, and just a few people having a drink!

As someone else pointed out in another thread - all new ventures take time to get established - the market won't exist without people there to sell/swap their wares, one thing depends on the other! At least in this hot weather, there is shade, drinks to buy without needing to go elsewhere, you don't have to bring your own tables - just yourselves and all those bits and pieces you have accumulated over time that you don't want and don't need, but which someone else has maybe been looking for but can't get, because it is an Island and commodities are either scarce or expensive.......

Also a chance to meet up with each other, maybe forge new friendships? hear new ideas on things to do, places to go.....maybe turn out to be a weekly meeting place. Like everything in life, it will be whatever people want it to be

Hello,

Thanks for the positive message Ms Garnet.. Quite right, the option to trade in the shade is a real positive in this weather, where it (thankfully for tan lovers) gets hotter every day!! and whilst you are selling or buying of course you bump into friends, making it a great social event too!!

Yes it was not very busy last week, 7 tables in all but it was the first market!!

As an incentive for people to come this week though and sell their odds and ends turning them into hard cash, or even by selling new stock or little home-made nibbles for example ..

THIS WEEK WILL BE FREE FOR VENDORS to sell..

So please get in contact asap to reserve a table for a fun and productive day out!

Can I suggest that you start a thread with that in the title. You should get a lot more people try it out. Will you put me down for a table please, I'll give it a go. What time did you say it starts? was is 10.30 or 11.30.?

Stella
