| Hi I use both a Tesco VOIP USB phone and a simlar one from Maplins for use with Skype - no problems. Most of the computer shops in Girne have thier own versions, as well some of the mobile outlets in Lemar etc. you are spoilt for choice. When you set it up (on skype) ensure you set the audio to the new USB phone, or you will get no sound in or out. also if you are using 3G ensure you do not have a normal mobile phone near the 3G dongle or it will interfere with reception. The only type i would not recommend are the ones which sit on a desk and allow open conversation, they are prone to interference and distort. hope this helps GG |

| I am back in the UK and was in my local Tesco waiting for the wife so went and browsed through the TV and Computing section and came across a Tesco/Siemens internet Phone which you could use even when your PC is not switched on. It was priced at about £55 which is brilliant as a couple of years ago they were between £150 to £200. If you are in the UK or have someone there about to visit you in TRNC then I would recomend you get one. |
