1. You set the rules and you appoint those to supervise the same rules. You then treat those appointees with the disdain of a master to that of a servant! 2. You then make sure that the rules are made public in a 'Green Book' nice friendly title but you do not allow anyone to check if those rules are infact fair or reasonably applied. 3. If someone has the audacity to ask you simply ignore them - even under the Freedom of Information Act when the Information Commissioner has requested the details to be released! 4. You then pursue the matter through the courts to say that it is an issue of 'national security' and if a terrorist got a hold of the addresses of the second homes etc., it would pose a mortal threat to ourdemocracy! 5. When you lose the court battle you then go back to the claims and try and 'redact' (hide) the calims so no one really knows what took place and by whom. If in the interim someone leaks the information to a national newspaper....

Cont'd.. If the leaked information gets in to the public domain then... 1. Say you played it according to the rules set by Parliament - you know the Mother of Democracy! 2. Pay back a little and appear apologetic. 3. Tell everyone who cares to hear your side of the argument that you did what you thought was within the rules even if not within the spirit of the rules. 4. Set up your own internal enquiry (Conservative Party) and hold out a few scape goats in the hope that the mob will be satisfied! 5. Set up your own Star Chamber (Labour Party) - nice title - shows you are serious and remind people that there should be due process even if the MP's have done things which are in the words of Gordon Brown 'unacceptable'. 6. Call for an independent enquiry (Liberal Party) i.e. kick the problem in to the long grass and hope that the mob will be satisfied. 7. Blame all the big parties and claim you are whiter than white if you are a small 'Thug' party - BNP / UKIP.

Cont'd... 8. Being a small 'Thug' party BNP / UKIP you hope that no one remembers when your members where charged with fraud and other offences when running your expenses! 9. When all else fails: Go away for a 100 day summer recess - fight a European Election and claim if you think we are bad just look at the size of that Brussels gravy train! 10. If the public are still baying for blood get a few MP's to resign at the next election. 11. If point 10 fails, remind people that just like the banks we can't have a democracy that fails - so we will need to bail oit our MP's. If anyone mentions the issue of a 'Crime' being committed get the police to investigate and then refer the matter to the DPP. Moral of the story: If you steal a little the throw you in jail, if you steal a lot they make you king!
