| As promised here are our impressions of the private schools we visited. We are posting these threads for reference by other parents who are thinking of educating their children in Cyprus:- Nicosia Area The American International School. We met the outgoing director who showed us around and answered our questions. The schools intake is diplomatic/UN followed by affluent GC’s The expatriate children mostly stay short term and move on with their parents employment. There are a few TC’s. The building is a former hotel and the actual facilities are of lower quality than described in the brochure. It is organised on American principles and runs a successful IB program. The atmosphere is good. It is expensive Euro 6000 to 12000 per annum depending primarily on year. There is no Bus service to the North. Principal warned us that we would be the first expat family who proposed to live in the North. We were left with the impression that our children would not fit in here.
