3 robberies in Karsiaka on saturday night

My friends were robbed on saturday night and the police believe it was done by somebody driving around estates in a lime green car. Not sure if it is a hire car. If you see such a car please take note of registration and inform the police. My friend noticed this car travelling through his estate earlier in the evening but of course you dont think of it at the time. He told the police and they seemed to know about this car, so maybe they were seen by the other unfortunates. My friend had left his lights on at the house and yes he has a dog. they must have been watching and saw my friends go out. they took money and jewellery but left credit cards etc. Please be on the look out many thanks

We will all keep oue eyes peeled, however do your friends have any idea of model, make or shape of the car, there are not many lime green cars about.

So no need for the make, model, shape then, seeing as though there are not many lime green cars about.

Further to your comments about the lime green car, friends of ours had commented on how they had seen a bright green car driving around their estate on 2 consecutive days with 4 young guys, had never been seen before on the estate. They drove to the end of the estate, turned around and came back. It was an old Renault and not a hire car. Unfortunately they hadn't been on this website so didn't read this link. Had they, they may have prevented 4 burglaries in Tatlisu. Everything taken was portable - money and jewellery. They gained entry through patio doors but didn't go for houses with dogs. Keep your eyes peeled for the bright green car - described as the same colour as succulent plants!!!!!!

It sounds like a little firm working its way round the residential areas that appear to be profitable breakins - I notice that they take only jewellery and cash items - easy pickings. With the Cyprus Today(CT) now coming out midweek as well it would be of public interest if they were to incorporate a "crimestopper column" with descriptions of vehicles, alleged perpetrators etc to watch out for plus the relevant tel no to call - the CT reports crimes but wouldnt it be better still if they added a crime prevention column - most people read the CT if we all sent an e-mail to the editor requesting this public service they may consider as a necessity. It is such a shame as the TRNC has had - up to now- a low crime rate and we all want that to continue.

pizzaland in karakum has also had two break ins last week.

will keep a look out for this car, sounds like it shouldn't be hard to miss!

Brilliant idea. Had our friends seen a listing of "dodgy" cars in the CT then they would have been straight onto the police. It is quite worrying when you see how many burglaries are taking place at the moment. As a matter of interest I checked with my friends and guess what???? No bright green car perusing the estate today! Hope they catch the *&%$£ soon.
