I know I don't have to look and I am looking a lot less.

I remember Gordon mentioning that he doesn't post what's on in the Celebrity because of the high number of topics.

Can I suggest that we have an area for new topics and when the topic has reached a certain number it's moved into the general area.

This board could soon be a victim of it's own success.

Only my humble opinion.

I'm now waiting for the barrage of abuse. Bring it on, as a number of the other posts are irrelevant.

OK

All new topics must be submitted to the Mods for approval. Majority Mods rule.

It would save them work, not increase it.

Do you think the recent topic about eating dogs would have got Mods approval. Nothing more to add.

Apart from,

Maybe a classifieds page would reduce the number of posts from Italian Bistro's, Indian restaurants and other outlets touting their wares.

It depends what you find irrelevant, yes the eating dogs thread should have been pulled after the first post as clearly it was meant to antagonise.

If we talk about NC all the time that would be boring, as many things have already been discussed.

So what you are really saying is we could do with a general chat area? That way all the relevant threads stay together, and we can talk about anything else in another area?

Don't see how that can work here.

What you've got to remember,

when you buy a newspaper or magazine,

not all the topics in them are of interest to everyone.

Same applies here, read only what interests you,

and skip the rest.

No problem

Hi Navek.

I take your point re magazines etc, but if I buy a fishing mag I would not expect half the items to be about interior decorating or whatever.

Hilltop, A whole magazine dedicated to fishing........how else do you expect them to fill up the space?

Next brilliant idea of mine.

Each person is only entitled to one post per day, or 7 per week.

Also, each person is entitle to only one new topic per week. I know this one is mine!

That would mean that instead of posting drivel, members would think a bit as it was your only post.

Just highlight some of the names at the top of the main page, double click, then look at how many posts and divide it by how long they've been a member.

Then check out the posts by "the most helpful members". Do you think they have posted 5 times per day, EVERY day?

I've just checked my ratio, I know you all will.

300 posts, divided by six months and 2 days, call it 185 days. 1.62 posts per day. I think that's too much!

pinkchilli,

Don't you think that this smacks a bit of restriction of free speech.

Surely the point here is that you can pick and choose the topics that interest one and contribute to several in one session as it suits ones leisure time.

Restricting littlenige and others for instance would spoil my enjoyment.

By the way you've exceeded your quota of comments. lol.

Doesn't make a lot of sense to me. You start a post and can only add 1 comment per day to your own post which normally means you have one follow up question.
