hi everyone, could anyone advise me about radios. I have just been given a world wide radio and was wondering whether to bring it out to N Cyprus, would it work? does anyone use one? Someone has also said just bring out an AM/FM and tune into a local english speaking station? Bit slow on technical things, so any help on tuning or station frequencies would be gratefully recieved. Many thanks in advance. herindoors

A little confused by your use of "world wide radio". Do you mean it has FM, MW (AM), LW (long wave) and SW (short wave)? To your question would it work, yes it would, but only as good as the signal strengths are in the country you are receiving it.

Many thanks Timothy, yes it has all the fm,mw, etc. will bring it out anyway and have a good fiddle with it! As you say if it works and picks up a signal great, if not, nothing lost, silence is golden. lol
