Why do some people deliberately behave like an idiot in order to provoke others by posting silly threads without an iota of logic. What satisfaction could possibly DC, for instance, have derived in the now closed thread? Would it have not better to have posted something more useful or a thread that cheered up people rather than the exactly opposite and getting people up in arms. Also, when it comes to correctly other peoples grammatical errors, the internet is not the forum. The internet has given people the freedom to instantaneously 'publish' material without the hassle of looking over their shoulders worring whether they are spelling correctly or using correct grammer. The natural spontiety engendered by the internet is robust and exciting should be encouraged rather than criticised.

Fred my love so right. Im not suggesting for one moment Dc s drinks but sometime and Im guilty as charged that plays a big part of Bravado DC is informative but sory DC can tend to rub people up the wrong way with his views. always beleive you have to knnow the person and we do know Hans. He is a nice person. With his own view to which he is entitled. Sometimes I wonder if we are all getting an Island mentality? xxxx

I completely agree fred, I was just trying to work out a way to put into words how irritating the threads can be and you said it perfectly. In DC's defence quite a lot of Brits do act superior but then so do quite a lot of every other race I have come across. I write and speak english badly because I am lazy, I speak less and less German, French and Russian and even my native language Doric because I very rarely use them. I applaud anyone who can speak more than 1 language fluently but to criticise a race for acting superior and then trying to infer that you are in fact better than them on any level because you can be sarcastic and rude in several languages does not equate. The only purpose this thread will serve is to give DC another chance to Rant about the Brits so it will probably be closed again. Go on then Dutch, let slip the dogs of war, I am bored and will happily debate useless comments with you and maybe one day we can meet for a beer and you can be superior to me !!!

hi fred, he seem to have a dislike for the brits in general. loves dishing it out but dislike recieving it. his passion is telling everyone my dog hotel is closed ,so his friends can fill theirs. sad way to try and get rid of the competition! as always the proof is in the pudding , and people will make their own choices where they feel is best for their pets. for the record we are open, alive and well, with a new play area underway. along with our new project soon to be disclosed. cronos, he's going to need plenty when mr firestarter catches up with him, lol.

Fred8, I think you started this topic to provoke others by posting a silly thread. We all get satisfaction in many ways. DC is entitled to get satisfaction as he sees fit without reporting him to the thread police ! He's right about spelling though. It's annoying when one can so easily use spellchecker.

Msg 8 -Silly thread? Provoke others? Pleasere-read thread and under a cold shower, to get your satisfaction, reconsider your response before wasting time responding to 'silly threads'. The cold shower at least will not offend anyone. Strange that you say it is ok to get satisfaction by provoking others racially or because of nationality or other in other insulting way. Your appear to get annoyed easily (spelling) and find it legit toget satisfaction anyway you see fit at the expense ofothers-phew!

fred 8, You're taking this too seriously. My comments were meant to be lighthearted. However............since you have so little sense of humour... Who are you to decide what's idiotic or acceptable on this site? It's not only you that's entitled to their views. I didn't say that "it is ok to get satisfaction by provoking others racially or because of nationality or other in other insulting way." Quite the reverse. Don't put words into my posts that aren't there. Bye the bye, I'm not annoyed just amused at your misapprehension. Or are you just trying to provoke a reaction ?

Fred8, Phew ! So this wasn't you that corrected someone elses spelling was it ? "think to make 'sence' of what you are attempting to say, you mean to say sense". Obviously you really do understand that correct spelling makes for clearer communication.

Ithink, you need a bigger showerthan I thought!Never mentioned the word 'coorection' in discussing the incident of the 'scence'. Please re-read the relevant thread. In respect of (I didn't say that "it is ok to get satisfaction by provoking others racially or because of nationality or other in other insulting way." Quite the reverse. Don't put words into my posts that aren't there_) Wrong again: re-read please in the context of DC's thread and your reponse of getting satisfaction !

Fred8, Unfortunately, because of your convoluted phrasing and misspellings I cannot understand your reasoning or your posts. For instance what does 'coorection' mean. I can't find it in my dictionary. You seem to delight in correcting other peoples spelling (scence) but don't like it in when applied to you. Your reference to a cold shower eludes me. No doubt this is your idea of humour. If so it leaves me cold (like the shower).

Seems to be a twist around here somewhere, I believe Fred was against those who criticise spelling and grammer but now he is being attacked for it. Is it so hard to work out someones meaning or is it just some petty way of irritating each other? Let's face it people are trying to get a message across and I am pretty sure the message is "I am ignorant , please correct me!" It might be an idea to consider the possibility that some people are typing quickly in order to get across the answers they were requested before it ends up 7 messages further down the string and makes little sense !!

Oh Prodg dosent it always end up like this. We all make mistakes in our spelling and grammer because we rely on computors now and not our brain. Nobody can be held to account for that here. Im so guilty as my fingers go too quick that I forget which of my keys stick (thanks to my dog spilling wine over them) when I read them back Im ashamed. It does make sense what you say we want to answer NOW. No one should take offence xx

Its all right Lilly, people can find a way to get peeved about anything they want these days. I will admit that sometimes I ahve to read peoples posts a couple of times in order to make them out but it isn't often and not worth criticising. I would prefer a debate about something that might help people rather than you are slightly illeterate because you can not speed type. If you get your point across to those how it was intended for then you have achieved your aim. Keep banging away Lilly, on the keys I mean and please explain why on earth you were letting the dog drink wine ?????

I agree that Doric can be a great language to hear right up until you get three drunken Aberdonians in a bar convinced that every word they say makes sense to everyone. Sounds more like wilderbeast during mating season but us jocks never were too shy about getting outr point across no matter who wants to listen. Oops, bit of a freudian slip posting that on this thread, Oh well, life goes on.

Geejay, sorry I am trying to wind you up - all in good jest but seriously I mean it on a forum like this or when writing emails , for example, one does not have to be so stiff. It is bad enough in ones professional life - I have published numerous articles in referreed journals and chapters in books as well aseidted books the proof reading and changes that have be made are a pain. Forums like this should be fun and one should relax and enjoy it. Once again with respect to the incident of the 'scence', if I recall , i do not think I mentioned I was correcting the splling. Yes I did play on the word but did not direct refernce to spelling mistake. I have to check that up as soo as i get the time but stand to be corrected

ood theory Lilly, however just to put a spanner in the works, quite a few years ago it was recognised that the community with the best spoken "queens english" was around Inverness in Scotland. I think it was due to the upper class english gentry owned (STOLE) all the hunting grounds in that are. Remember "THEY CAN NEVER TAKE OUR FREEDOM" ,shame he was an American raised in Australia pretending to be a half French Scotsman. And they wonder why we can't talk write, korrektish, propersactly, accurist, Oh I give up !!!!

Its all fine Lilli, I have said it before and I'll say it again, some of the best people to ever buy me a drink were English, of course I never bought them one back. I am an Aberdonian after all and we do have a reputation to uphold. Before anyone does a runner when I walk into a bar in NC, its a joke. I will buy everyone I meet a beer and am even willing to pay for all the straws you need to share it. "Alba Gu Brath"
