I tried it and it didn't work but then I do get badly bitten. It wasn't helped by the fact I was allergic to it!!!! Trust me

If you know someone coming out from England, I have just got 5 bottles of the dry body oil in the blue for £12. Great bargain!

dav88 - We found a little machine that does the same thing. Not so convenient as the keyring and it is quite noisy but may be worth a try. The only thing that seems to have any effect on the little blighters for me is to have a fan going - either ceiling or standing - as they don't seem to like circulating air. Haven't come up with anything that stops them if you're sitting outside on the balcony having a relaxing drink!

I tried the lotion and it works a treat, but my friend from South Africa tried it (in Cyprus) and it din't work very well for her, so, i would suggest that everyone should at least try it, if it works then great, if not, then it's back to the drawing board DD

Hi All, I have travelled this world and am prone to bites big time and have never experienced anything like the bites you get here. Not trying to get too excited, BUT, having tried everything else in the five years of living here, maybe, just ,maybe the simple lemon, seems, maybe, touch wood, to be doing the trick, fingers crossed

Hi Natalie lemon works every time if you can put up with constantly rubbing it on. im told that massive dose of vitaim B help as does eating marmite or bovril as they hate yeast. I have travelled the world also but never been bitten like I do here. This avon so far is working for me even though its expensive here. I even had sandfly fever last year and did I know it xx

Lilli, my husband reading the newspapers found a tip about the same applying to onions. You gotta believe I went for the lemons. Where from in Ireland?

Unfortunately the vitamin B1 or Thiaminesn't work for sandflies but it does work a treat for mozzies. I used to look like a relief map of the Himalayays with mozzie bites bites until I started on the Thiamine. A 100mg dose each morning will do the trick, you may smell a little like a marmite sandwich until your body gets used to it but no-one else will notice the smell
