Hi Vienna girl Yes its the same development -We have just reserved an apartment in phase 2 after a visit in March. We checked out a few other sites - but this one appealed to us the most. The villa and bungalow design is excellent - but our budget would not stretch that far.

Hi We have recently bought on Sweetwater Bay, are you all using the same lawyer? I am thinking about going with an independant one. What are your thoughts?

Hi M+M, People are struggling a abit to find independant lawyers as alot of developments are all using more or less the same (handfull) of law firms out in NC! But still better to go with a big law firm that others are using rather than any old person I suppose! So far the main names Ive heard for solicitors are Naomi like you said and Im using Gurkan & Gurkan- although Ive had one or two hic-cups along the way like everyone else I suppose- nothing ever runs smoothly! But its all sorted out now so I cant grumble too much! Good luck with the search Take care D P.s There is a webb site called http://www.turkishcyprus.com That has lists or recommendations for legals, insurance companies, banks etc that might be of use!

Thanks D. I will have a look and see if I can find one. However, I would rather use a lawyer that has been recommended by a purchaser (preferably one that's completed on their house). Thanks once again for your help.

Hi Everybody, Just stumbled across the web site,so thought I would join the fun. As this is my first visit to the forum,I would like to say hello to my fellow residents at SWB and everyone else on NC. Can you believe it I purchased Villa C58 last Nov,having never been to South and Northv to Cyprus. However, being a Travel Agent I had sent many people on holiday and only ever got glowing reports. Looking forward to my visit early Oct-I can see from the SWB web that the shell of the Villa is complete and the site is well under way. Now getting excited about my Dream coming true. Will update ,on my return ,on any interesting news. Bye for now Del

Hiya Dobbo, There's a few just got back and they say it is a hive of activity. There's just been new pics put on the construction also showing a well and the water tanks going in. It's really developing at breakneck speed now. We habe bought 105PL and ours isn't starting till the begining of 08. Another forum linked to the owners of swb can be found at http://groups.msn.com/NorthCyprusSweetwaterBayPropertyOwners/_whatsnew.msnw Cheers Gaynor

Hi all H E L P I am trying to get a small package out to Edith at Sweetwaterbay Development. Their office address is: Besparmaklar Cad 3. Catalkoy. It's east of Girne, on the way to Esentepe and Tatlisu on the left hand side. Very large sign outside office. If anyone is going out in the near future, I should be so grateful. My email address is: keith.huntt@tiscali.co.uk . If you email me with your address, I will post the package to you. Thanks Moira Hunt

I guess we are all gradually finding this thread the construction photos of the site now look good so things look to be moving on quickly. Milou your post looks like 2 t's on the end of Hunt is that delibertae or a typo? I am not sure what others have done but as my foundations have commenced and they have asked for the next payment I will forward through Naomis client account I guess that provides a clearer audit trail.

Hi all, What a shame we lost all that valuable information on the North Cyprus Forum!....all those wasted hours...and hours....and hours.... I'm still here, but my mother-in-law is very ill now with cancer so that obviously is taken priority, I'll dip in from time to time though to say 'Hi'. The photos on the website are great, it's great to see it coming on so well now! By the way, what was the name of the 'Avon' cream that you were all talking about on the North Cyprus Forum? I was in the US when you were all talking about it and got bitten to death, so I want to stock up for my next trip!! Take care all, Jane. (aka janeyb)!

sunnydays Avon skin so soft dry oil body spray, it's the one in the green bottle 'soft and fresh' NOT the red/pink one. I swear by it, and every time I am abroad I end up giving a bottle away to let people try, and everyone has comented how it really works.

That is some resort though and would consider staying there although for a visitor as there were 4 of us it was very expensive 60 YTL just to get in! |

I have also taken some video clips so will post that on utube later. I think Keith & Moira also took a lot of pictures and video so it will be interesting to see as well. |

Hiya everybody, I just wondered why people wern't communicating more on the msn forum. All the information there is safer and can be stored more efficiently. e.g the articles of association can go on there under documents and not just on a long thread. We can list all our information under different headings to easily trace for future. This forum is great for chatting but seeing that activity over there has heigthened enormously maybe we need to organise our information better. Just a thought??

Millzer I am aware of the site you set up on msn. With the loss of http://www.northcyprusforum.com/ I wanted to set up a site that is completly open to all people with no restrictions or no manager deciding who can or cannot leave messages. Although I am the manager of the site it has been left completly open and I wanted a site that is run by a Sweetwater owner for other owners. This is in no way a knock at you.

Hi Jack (C57) a big hello from me and my wife Linda. Stood on the terrace of our villa 2 weeks ago - said then it would be nice to know who are neighbours are. Everything is gathering pace now and it's good to hear everyones views from their visits. Site is fantastic - how about the bye pass just finishing near to the development, hope work continues soon on the link road. We have booked out next visit 29 April - hope it coincides with the key handover. Anyone any ideas on furniture stores? Also how easy is it to cross the border at Nicosia, i.e. which junction off the motorway, etc. Bye for now. Derek & Linda

Hiya Derek and linda, We have also booked next April but we fly back on the 30th but if we get the chance we could meet briefly if you like. I have been looking at the ikea catalogue for cyprus lefkosa. The prices are great but I hear they don't deliver to the North so not sure how you would get large items. The link for the catalogue in English and pounds is http://www.ikea.com.cy/content/index.asp?language=0 I have also posted some websites for furniture stores in NC on the msn website that Milzer talks of. Take care Gaynor

Northsforme, Message 56. Thats no problem at all you are entitled to do what you like. I started my msn forum for SWB owners simply to help a few of people out. Nothing more to it than that!! I would be quite happy to amend the settings so that you could manage it if you wished, so you would have control as an owner over how it progressed anyway! It's up to you. You will find that with the forum you have started you will STILL have to approve all people to join BEFORE they are able to post messages. The open settings are for viewing only, not for posting!!

Hi Jakki the good news is they are doing the footings 32(me) 33 and 34(u) so they want some more money I guess we pay when the footings are completed so unless they update the pictures we dont really know I am using Naomi and have also found her very efficient via the E Mail

Hi Rocky - Yes they are calling for more money - I am just so amazed at the speed work is progressing - the last time I saw our villa it was a pile of dirt!! I think I might pop over in March in order to see how things are going and also to pick kitchen, interior design etc. Any thoughts anyone??

Hi everyone! I'm not sure of exact date for the release of the keys - Edith & Andy indicated May 2008 for my stage (stage 2) & so I'm not sure when to go over to organise furniture delivery. I think I'll have to have a couple of visits to shop around & get some idea's. Edith said that most of the shops will store furniture until we have access to the site also Andy said that you can bring things over from the south side in your car (van's are not permitted) so I'm hoping to hire a car and do a couple of trips with some basics from ikea - it'll depend on what I can fit in the back of a car I expect! I've logged into the other site but not much action there - all seems to be going on here...!! Take care x

As we are all aware, the developer seems to be building in order or everything sold and not in phases as such. Has anyone asked the question; "Will they still build the units even if they haven't sold them, or will we all be living/staying on a non-complete site come November 2008?" Having read Frank & Joans website (which stated in the local paper that many builders are now getting into difficulty due to lack of sales), it's just something that is concerning me slightly! Norths4me - Thank you so much for putting your video on the msn forum, it was great to see, thanks so much for all your efforts, they are appreciated. I can't believe how quickly it's all coming along now.

Hi all, I heard recently that to begin with they were just building the units that were sold only- as back then not many units were sold and they could only afford to build them as they sold them! Now that 50% have been sold apparently they are more on track to complete the phases according to the originally plan and phases! Last time I spoke to edith a month or so ago she said that nearly all villas and bungalows were sold stroight away and they are wanting to complete all front line along with communal areas and road etc aswell as phase 2 by early to mid next year! Then phase 3 by nov 08 along with communal facilities by then also! Even on 50% sold they have enough money to be able to complete on a development! The quicker they get footings in the more money is due also which helps! They cannot expect to sell out before completion but also they will sell fast once completed as alot of buyers like to see feel and touch the final product before buying- so that shouldnt be a problem!! It is also not in their best interest to only develope half the development and leave the rest til later on- so dont worry be happy!!! SWB say that they average about 4 sales a month- if thats so then this time next year there should be about another 50+ sold!! Plus the more you can see a development taking shape and developing the more likely people will buy!! As in the very early stages when you only have a picture of a bare plot of land a map and a computer generated image of the resort the more imaginative you have to be- which most people cant see?? Take care- D

Hi there, I noticed that UKTurk was recommending to buy a built property rather than off plan. Someone we recommended to swb went over, really did love the development but ended up buying one further back that was already built. The development on N4M's video footage looks really desirable. Those frontline bungalows look lovely. G

| Hi Jac k A good development will always sell, even in a difficult market. When we were out there in Oct. we met a couple who had lived in the South for ten years - spent months looking at developments in the north and with their budget, had the pick of any development. Praise, indeed, for Sweetwaterbay as they bought into this development. Also, the three director's bungalows has been converted into four - these went on the market last Friday - three were immediately reserved. I know that B22 went for £240.000 to a couple who have travelled the world and are financially very astute. You also mentioned furniture - might be worth looking at http://www.homefront.com - their prices are very reasonable and they can replicate any picture as they make all their furniture in NC and have a good range of materials. | Hi Milou Thanks for the link - do they make furniture ? Have you used them/know anyone who has - what's their product line? (sorry thousand questions) From the site it looked like a kitchen company - (sorry to sound dumb - I really am). Good news about the bungalow price - it'll please my husband! Cheers, take care, jac |

Hi Graham Thanks for the furniture link - always good to have several companies. Jac and Gaynor, sorry I sent the wrong link. This is the correct one: http://www.homepack-interiors.com This company was recommended to us by a Cypriot couple whom we met one night whilst having dinner. I haven't been to the shop but have been in contact with them by email to try to arrange to have a settee replicated. Also, they put all their prices on the web which is always a good sign. Regards

Hi Davidoff if they can complete the development with 50% sold does that indicate the profit margin?? if so will we see more special offers? To be honest with you I would rather see the whole development sold even with discounts because such a spectacular development will surely see a healthy premium on the properties. Buyers are more interested when a development is completed or near completion. I have heard that it is economical to wrought iron beds made anyone else heard of this if so I would like to know which firms do this. I think it makes sense to have longer legs on the beds so the suitcases can be stored underneath.

Hi all, I ve only heard through the grape vine that in general developers work to a 50-70% sales margin! And that also in general they will not start to build until at least 30% is sold anyway ! But dont know if this definately applies to SWB but in general these are the figures off plan developments work within! Take care-D

Hi Gang When we're at SWB how about, if we find a space somewhere to set up a library and contribute all our spare books, CD's, DVD' and vidio tapes? If this finds favour, then when you go out there, don't chuck out but contribute them to the library instead. Regards

Hi Gang No, they're not termite anthills, the builders left it after the grading to show where the original ground level is. We don't know why they've done it, maybe for the surveyors but they are DEFINITELY NOT anthills. We also noticed them when they were digging out the space for the villas. Regards Regards

David How lovely to hear from you, Yes there is plenty of room for the bbq esp as we have Geordie girl to share the load. Rocky before this gets out of hand, it is not Termite mounds or electrical termites or ants or an alien landing station. They are as far as I am aware Electric points that will be removed by the electric company (KIBTEC) Another point of interst was that apparantly they are no longer going to build a desalination plant. Obviously the idea must be to dig boreholes (wells)

Very Quiet on the Sweetwater thread. I noticed that the website has updated pictures although they dont look much different to the previous ones. As we are now in November which is the entry date for Phase 1 does anyone no how close this is to been achieved. Has anyone been notified of a completion?

Hi Gang - S O M E G O O D N E W S Arthur who has bought into B18 has sent me the following: "Hi both on SWB today, sun still shining. Met a new owner on SWB today who is a wızz on complex multi tv aireal istallation. The tecnology now exists to drive the whole of SWB from one 5.5 dısh but recommends the cabling is done now. He is going to send details so I will forward as soon as I have them. He estimates the total cost will be around 20k. It will not be too costly between all of the units and its a one off cost and not linked into any monthly costs. Sky/ broadband would be available too. See you soon Arthur". I suspect that once Arthur has the figure, that we ask SWB to consider this, as it's so important and also because there will be some cabling to be done which will have to be done quickly. I am also assuming that SWB will have to email everyone for the money. Norths4Me - as far as I am aware, SWB are on target for November completion but this hasn't been confirmed. Also, Davina might not be on the forum for a while because her Grand-father is very ill in hospital and they don't expect him to come out Regards

Hi Moira Thanks for the info. Would this however be a cost that should be passed to the owners or as I would assume that sweetwater must have already budgeted for this or something along the same idea. Their specification for each unit is copied below. "Electricity, phone, TV and high speed internet sockets in every room" They therefore must have allowed for such a scheme I would have thought. Give Davina my best

re sat tv and internet I agree that as far as I am concerned high speed internet is included as in the specifications. I do not think we should educate the developer otherwise. It is also difficult to assume that all (even unsold units) will require Sat tv and internet so to committ all to any additional expense is probably appropriate through a properly constituted RA.

Hiya all, I don't hink that price would be included. Not for sat tv. It would be for us to organise ourselves I presume. What about the key card system. That isn't in the contract so again something extra to pay for. Personally I am not that bothered about sky tv though I know my partner and sister would probably love to have it for the sports. Therefore w would be interested in having it installed. How do we get the go ahead for this at the minute apart from getting as many as possible to agree to the charge and would it cause such massive problems to install it a bit later on.

Hi Gang Up until now there has been no cabling laid down for sat. TV. Arthur is under the impression that we will have to pay for this. Can I propose the following: Keith to Email Yoav and Edith this evening with all the questions,/requests etc. instead of all of us writing individually - if you would prefer to write separately, pse send me an email : keith.huntt@tiscali.co.uk . If you equire something added to this email, again, send this through to me. Keith will also send a copy of this email to everyone that we have emails for. Arthur, felt that we had to sort this out NOW before it's too late to put the cabling down. For those of you that don't know, Arthur is renting in NC and frequently visits SWB site so knows what is happening. Regards

Hi Norths4Me Forgot to reply to you! Keith will put your question as to whether SWB will be paying for this, if they let us do this - I understand that Edith was trying at one stage for a single dish but because we're just on the borderline to receive any sensible, she wasn't sure. Importantly is that cables go down and SWB make this decision quickly before we're told it's too late. Regards

Hi all, Long time no speak to! Re: The one large satellite dish- Im definately in !!!! Could you imagine having 4-6 seperate 4 metre dishes on each apartment block and all the villas and bungalows with them also! I dread to think how messy and unsightly it will be! It would definately RUIN THE LOOK OF SWB without a doubt! Dont mind paying a small fee to have this installed as I feel this will be a priceless move to do this anyway so it doesnt spoil the feel and design of SWB ! Also I think that in the future potentially individual dishes all over the place will deter people from buying in the future and when it comes to us reselling will cause problems! Thats my pennies worth for now! But it would be ashame for SWB to spend so much time, money and effort to make it a carefully thought out, designed development and then last minute go and spoil it by going for lots of individual huge dishes!! Take care-D

Hi Gang Keith recd an email from one of the gang saying the following: "I have forwarded your round robin to a good friend of mine, Michael Genner, who has helped to put together many of the newest satellite and telecom packages for the North of Cyprus. I am hoping he will advise us." Let's wait and see what Michael has to say. Regards

Hi all, Just read the latest on satelite dish - we do not want loads of individual dishes thankyou!! Actually, when we were out inspecting recently Andy strictly said that they were costing the installation of one main feeder dish which would be hidden by landscaping (bushes etc) and that there would definitely not be individual dishes. He then went on to tell us about hiding water tanks etc. We specifically asked the question about tv & sky installation and he said that 'in his view we wouldn't need sky as the local freeview offered a variety of channels including news, kids tv' - everything we want. We were also under the impression (from our contracts )that the facilities would be installed and ready to go when we got our keys - we assumed that from Andy's comments that the cables were being laid after our inspection trip and before the road surfaces were laid. I'm so confused now!!!

hi guys i just read all your comments about sky tv, if you guys want sky tv what you have to do is all get together buy a 4.5 metre dish then get a quad lnb (4 output) and also a multiswitch this comes with either 8-12-16-24 output so for example if thers is 4 apartment blocks each output of the lnb serves the blocks then the multiswitch splits the signal into how many flats are in the apartment block then each apartment has to have a sky box you dont have to get a subscription what you guys do is get a ftv card with this card you can watch all the bbc channels, itv channels, chan 4, chan 5- five life- five us, sky 3 - a couple of music channels and a few film channels (movies for men-true movies 1&2-hollywood movies & film 4) and again if you all come together to pay for this it is more cost effective for example a 4.5 dish aluminum (never buy fibire glass) cost between 1500-2000pound quad lnb 50-60pound, multiswitch around 250pound, cables and install fee hope this all helps you guys take care regards ukturk

Hi all, Sorry jack if weve confused you that wasnt the intention! Basically you are right the normal/standard tv provides nearly 50 channels and are a mixture of certain english, turk programmes/channels etc But for the equivilant of sky and sky channels we need a proper dish for this! SWB Are supposed to be running tv, electric cables underground to each property/unit anyway. Then it would be up to us individuallt to seek out sky to come fit dishes etc ourselves and fork out the cost -as you would in the uk etc! The sky cables for a BIG COMMUNAL main dish I think is different and is needed to connect the main dish to all the properties?? Which is still a bit confusing aswell I know Im still trying to work it all out aswell! Dont know if any of this helped- confused myself when writing it too!! Theres a few engineers on here who might be able to enlighten us more soon!! Take care-D

hi again just adding to my comment above there are few other options you guys can go for firstly is digiturk with this all you need is a 90cm dish the cheapest package starts from 19.90ytl (around 8 pound) with this you get bbc prime (spinoff of bbc1) hallmark channel, mgm, disney channel, jetix, mtv, history channel, 2 national geographic programmes, zone reality, eurosport 1&2, and just now started fox sports which show at least 2 football matches on a sat&sun. the next package is 34.90ytl with this you get all the above and 2 extra movie channels then 43.90 4 extra movies plus a couple of extra channels this is done a years contract but you can cancel anytime and all you do is just give the box back the other system you can go for is buying a dish and a reciver yourself then you point the dish at either hotbird or nilesat (names of satellites) with these you pick up about 20-30 english channels this is prob the cheapest solution but to tell you the truth not much variety hope this helps ukturk

Ukturk, thank you for all your advice. It would definately be sky sport that we would want along with a few kids channels like jetix and the usual standard. We are really looking at if a super dish would service everyone's needs and i wonder if that depends on which satellite it is pointing at. I too would prefer so much not to have loads of individual dishes. Hiya D, I hope you and your family are ok. Jac, although Andy talked about having a large dish to meet the needs of the development i hadn't taken from that that they were going to provide it within the cost. It sounds like you were informed differently to us.

hi gaynorish no worries i would also advise to bring a sky box and take out a subscripton in the u.k because in the u.k you get the box for free where in cyprus you will have to pay at £150-£200 just for the box and then £100-£150 admin fee for the card, so you save at least £300 by doing this process in the u.k even if you are emigrating to cyprus what you do is set up a direct debit and leave some money in your account to pay for this, and also remember never tell sky that you are going to take the box and card abroad with you because sky is only meant for the u.k but dont worry unless you tell them their is no way sky can find out!!! regards ukturk p.s the only problem with sitesis (development city) like yours everyone has to agree to this because you are restricting people only to that option and some people cant get hold of sky boxes or dont wont to share the set up costs or if some owners of the properties are from diffrent countries

Hi ukturk - thanks for everything - it really does not take much to confuse me - I'm more confused now than ever - maybe vodka will help? Also thanks Gaynor - maybe I misunderstood what Andy meant - I don't know - I just remember thinking that the cables would all be laid and we just needed to plug in the set (after sorting the agreement with the service provider as to what channels we would want - Andy recommended freeview) and we would be away... I'm totally baffled - it's no one else's fault (just my wee mind is on overload - too much jargon for me to handle). Hopefully Keith & Moira will get the information we need and we can move on from there / decide what it's going to cost etc. I am clear, however, that dishes on every building will look awful & I'm so relieved that most of you think the same too... Thanks all for being so tolerant with me... love, Jac x

well the sat tv etc has certainly prompted some debate I believe that different owners from different countries will have different needs so I would be interested to know if there is one solution. It seems that different people are told different things. Did Yoav answer the question re the desalination plant? I understand that Israel is way ahead of everyone else in that field so hopefully there will be good news there. Does anyone know what they are doing with the waste water etc sewage from the site? I doubt there are mains drains to connect to so do they operate sceptic tanks or are they installing a treatment plant. We has a quote for a treatment plant one recently for our own house and it was £8K, expensive but but it would release fresh water into the drainage ditches.

Hiya everybody, So it looks like we would need a 4.5 metre dish to get the channels we would want. I know for my sister and partner that sky sports are the important ones. It would be impossible, I would think, for this size of dish to fit under the roof as suggested. Maybe we could have a facility for watching some sports in the bar??? or maybe if matches were on we could just go out to watch them!!! I hardly ever watch tv at home and just can't wait to go exploring the hills there!!! G

Hi Everyone - Just to confuse things further - the water tanks!! Where are they going?? You may be aware that my boyfriend and I had a whistle stop trip to NC when we purchased at SWB - other developments were blighted by the huge ugly water tanks on the roofs (if I remember rightly) - can anyone shed any light on the water tanks position - With all best wishes to you all - Jackie

looks likes main underground storage site to me no news on the desalination plant.which is a little concerning as fresh water I understand could become sparse with global warming. I also would like to know what they are doing with the waste, does anyone know ?surely a proper treatment plant is the answer in some countries the outlet is the sea I am sure SWB/ NC is more sophisticated.

Hi all, From what Ive heard there isnt a desalination plant anymore and SWB are saying there never was??? However I recently spoke to SWB about some issues regarding sewage, water, electric etc! SEWAGE- Apparently there will be a sewage treatment plant located on site which will work similar to a septic tank but a much more sophisticated version! The waste will go to the main plant on site and be treated all soil waste will sink to the bottom and will eventually sink underground and excess water will rise to the top and be pumped out and used for the irrigation system to water communal areas. Mains water is to be connected to the mains from tatlisu apparently the government will start laying the main pipe line from the begging of next year (crossed fingers!!!!) And will be connected to the site! SWB will lay all the necessary pipe and connections in preparation to be connected to the mains at some point! Electric will be connected to the mains- in one of the site pictures you can see the main pillons apparently theyve said they will move the pillons towards the back of the development and run them in the revine. Then they will lay the cables to the properties underground - so we dont have a webb formation of cables around the development! Hope this helps! Take care all-D

Hi all, Sorry forgot to mention they are seeking permission to move the pillons and put them where I said- so that is not for definate yet but thats what they want to try and do! And the sewage will not be pumped into the sea etc! Take care-D

I thought there was a central storage tank photo on the construction part of the website, not sure whats happening about the desalination plant I would have thought this would be essential I also understand that Israel is the best country for such a project. Does anyone know where the waste is going?? is there a treatment plant??? Not into the ravines I hope unless its been through treatment.

hi every one my name is andy and my wife susan just bought on SWB plot133 ground left.while out there we met arthur and his wife dorothy. we got talking about the problem of recieving suitable tv signals.i own a small company here in the uk that specializes in multi tv/sat distribution.i pionted out to arthur that the thecnology is available for a SMATV system with underground cableing.it will have to be done quickly otherwise they wont be able to sink the ducts because roads and walk ways will be in place.edith was makeing a call on mon 5th with regards to this.in my opinion TELEVES would be the company who would best to approach.but they are not cheap.www.televes.com or televes.uk@televes.com

What is stated is that a central water supply will be provided which in fairness they are supplying. Dont no where we got the desalnation plant from????? Nice to see you back on the board David |

further to our discussions about recieving english satellite tv everyone be aware that the sky digital feed of astra 28.2 east into noth cyprus is at its absolute maximum range of the footprint. another concern should be that sky force the free channels like bbc and itv to use the weakest multiplex and trasponder on the astra bird[sky only lets these channels on because the uk goverment make them]so even if we get a super state of the art system installed dont be surprised if the likes of itv2 dissapears one day even though its fine blue skys in noth cyprus it may be dull and rain at the up link facility in betzdorf luxemburg

To be honest we have enough TV at home so I cant see why SAT TV is so important to everyone. There is plenty of wild coast line, plants life , birds and sea life to observe and no doubt plenty of restuarants with food and wine so enjoy life can be enjoyed without that box or flat screen. Anyone most programmes are pretty NAF with soaps and modern comedy. Has anyone heard of books and no doubt if we have internet theres plenty of radio. am I a killjoy?

Hi all, ukturk said that its possible a while back in the thread that you can get one dish and run upto 4 apartment blocks off one then you get a seperate box that can then run off the sat tv to all aparments also!! So if we cant have one then thats an option?? To make it look less intrusive?? Hi andy and deb, Who gave the dish outside your aparment on the grass permission edith??? I thought these were communal areas?? Also if this is the situation then Im afraid Im pulling out of SWB guys!! I know it sounds abit immature- but I can already start to picture the 5-6 metre dishes scattered around communal areas and roofs and terraces if thats the case??? What A shame ??? I was so looking forward to it aswell?? Take care all-D

I have to agree with Rocky and D I am not really bothered about having tv but am really concerned about individual dishes that's all. Would like to thank everyone for their hard work and great concern about how SWB will look when finished. I don't want to spend my leisure days and nights in front of the box just don't want the wonderful views of the mountains and sea blighted by **** (I nearly swore there!!) satelitte dishes. Sorry I know I am repeating myself but I really feel strongly about this issue.

Agree with Rocky. Unless you are actually living there, why would anyone want a 5 metre dish (that's 16 feet across!!) sitting in front of them. They cost about £3,500 too!! We bought a nice plasma for our place, which I admit was a bit of an extravagence but helps to attract a few renters. We have communal Sat dishes for 'Digiturk' or 'Coldsat' (one on the roof of each apartment block of six) and were going to get Digiturk. We are not going to bother now, and will just stick with our DVD player to watch the odd film now & again. In all honesty we hardly watch it as there's so much else to do and see.

Hi All, I'm Jackie's boyfriend Arthur. I didn't intend to have a property close to an equivalent of Jodrell Bank. Although it's not near our villa, I feel sorry for the other residents of block 133 and the other properties nearby. I'm afraid I think a satellite dish of this size is OTT, even if "others won't see it". We will certainly be speaking to Edith, as I don't want this sort of blight to spread over the whole development.

Hi Gang Keith has now received the answer as to feasibility of the communal dish and costs - he will circulate it this morning to everyone on our original list and will be writing to Yoav and Edith. Until we get a definitive answer from SWB on this matter, perhaps it would be a good idea, for us not to wash our dirty linen in public!!! Anyone who has bought into SWB and wants a copy of this correspondence, please get in touch with us at: keith.huntt@tiscali.co.uk Regards

| Hi Rocky I missed your post - Keith would agree with you - definately books rather than TV, he reads while I happily watch any rubbish as long as I can stare at TV particularly for winter months - need my wine - need my TV and don't even mind blank screen - it's called "breain-dead", I know! | Hi All Puddie I have requested prices for the furniture packs from Sweetwater but to date have not received them, do you have them if so could you email them to me. There are loads of furniture outlet in and aroun Girne and some offer very competitive packs so it is definitly worth shopping around. Quote from Davifoff "The tripple AAA toy is for night time only Im afraid!! Although mines been gathering dust for years- Its second hand...yet never been used...anyone want one for xmas???" | Hi everyone! Hope all's well. Re: Loraine - where's container leaving from? We are in north east uk & have thought about shipping stuff (tv/playstation/sofa's/bedding) but not sure what's involved (not done any research yet) - are there vast taxes to pay? What capacity do container's have? - are you thinking about taking lots (our s.w.b. home is for holiday's & poss. rental so not moving out permanently). We also complete in May - we are hoping to go over Jan & April to look at furnishings over there.... Hi Gaynor, can you email me furnishings details too please....? (email is: jackie.kinnersley@ntlworld.com Thanks - take care all. xx |

Hi Loraine Not sure who you contacted ref: shipping but the cheapest and most recommended was Olay Transport. They only do 22 ft containers but still worked out cheaper than half containers with others. The only thing is that you have to load onto transport - they give you 3 hours to do this. Remember that SWB have a three month delay clause in contract. It takes approx. three weeks for ship to reach NC. Also, before customs can release goods, there are a few procedures you have to carry out, i.e. get clearance from local Muhlar (can't spell), take passport, sale docs to some gov. dep. for stamp clearance. This can be done when you go on holiday before goods arrive, once done, you can hand clearance certificate to your shipping co. If anyone goes down this route and your unit is not ready, Keith and I will be there so can make a plan to help store your goods for free but thereafter you will incur cost of removals to SWB unless someone else at SWB will let you store until you unit is ready. Remember that all used household goods are free but customs are strict and watchful on all new electrical apppliances, including TV'S ETC. and can charge you up to 40 percent duty - this information I recd when I phoned the customs in NC. Regards

Thanks Milou - info on containers/shipment most helpful - thank you. Does anyone have any idea whether phase 2 is on target? We only have 2 payments left (last one being on key exchange) but not heard anything about anticipated dates etc.... The SWB site looks like it's moving along well so hopefully will be on target for May 2008.....?? Take care all, love jac x

RE message 180? have all Nov 07 completions been delayed if so why?? Is it because they are building and completing the properties before the services are in and is this normal in NC?. If the first phase is delayed does this mean all phases will be six months late and do we have to pay for key handover without services? I would not think it would be wise to go for penalties against any builders with the slow down in sales acress the world. Our shared aim must be that the development is finished to our satisfaction and not be concerned abut minor delays.

They have made a mistake with the photos as when you click on the new picture of the shop building it comes up as the old one- so you need to click on the picture below the new shop photo and the right one will come up on screen! | O.K. Milou you're on, to keep the costs down though I'll share with north4me because he was the 100 post. We just need the 300 post to come quickly so it will be even cheaper for us. By the way Milou, do you drink the best Cyprus champagne or only the real French stuff? I made a mess of my photo observation though, the dates should have been the 1st of November and the 21st of November. Jasper Carrott's got nothing to worry about with me! All the best, Loby. |

Also I think youll need to pre-order a dozen bbqs and 20 gas bottles now so there ready for xmas time next year hopefully- as you know how slow it xcan get in NC!!! There motto is " Tomorrow , tomorrow ..slowly..slowly...!!" They can bring their own bubbly though...!!!!! Take care-D |

Anyway by all accounts the workmen are working longer and harder this time of year as its cooler. I'm making a visit on the 17th Jan so will hopefully know more then. I would really like to plan my summer holiday there so am keen to find out asap. P |

Hi everyone!! At last the plague has vanished from our door - it's been sick & sticky stuff all over in my house for the past 4 weeks - but fear not I don't think you can catch it on t'internet..... fingers xxx'd! About April trip - am I too late??? If not can you email me details of date/departure airport etc so I can get hubby to arrange his staff. Will it be a family affair (ie can I bring kids) or will it be grown ups only? (so I can plead with nanny for babysitting duty). Did anyone sort out partners for sharing containers (I think there was a couple of people who were thinking about sharing). With all the sales and stuff over here it might be cheaper to do a complete shipment rather than buy over there (that was my original idea - to keep the business in n.c.) but not sure yet about how it'll work without knowing exchange date. Take care all jac xx

| Hi jack, The dates are around the 23-24th april onwards!! Milou is now going out in feb instead of jan so ask her how much room she has spare in her container?? Provided that SWB have no delays in the installations of main connections i.e sewage, electric, water etc then It is possible that P1 could be ready in 6-7 months time- As once they actually start the construction of a block or villa its doesnt take long to construct it!! | There's a subject on the bypass which started me thinking. The new road being built that stops just past SWB, it does include putting a junction in that goes to our site doesn't it? I was told informally that it does but can anybody confirm that this will be the case. Loby. |

Hi Lobylud Eventually, I am sure that we will have a tarred road to SWB and Turtle Bay but I suspect this will only happen once the developments are nearer completion. It looks like Arthur and Dorothy unit B18 will be the first people moving in on 1st Jan - I've just had a message to say that the painters are in their bungalow - wish it was me!!! Regards

Hi Milou, Thanks for your reply. You seem to be in contact with Arthur and Dorothy, do they have a computer and could they post pictures of SWB somewhere. I really look forward to seeing new photos of the developement but it doesn't happen often enough for me. regards, loby.

Hi Lobylub Friends of ours, who were at SWB in October were told that SWB were trying to organise a webcam, so that we can watch progress on the site everyday. They did take some fantastic photos of the sunset at SWB but I don't know how to put it on the forum. regards

Hi all, Forgot to mention the hubbie won tickets on a virgin atlantic competition last week to go see spice girls concert at o2 arena! We went on sunday me the hubbie and I took my sister- Im not a spice girls fan and always take the mickey out of them but Im eating my words now!!!! WOW WHAT AN AMAZING CONCERT- They all sang live for sure although you couldnt hear a word when posh sang- BUT THE WHOLE SHOW WAS GREAT!! The lighting, satge setups and sound was out of this world I cant explain, the dancers were brilliant, costumes were daring and bold- alot of thought was put into it!!! In the virgin atlantic lsuite /ounge we had vip treatment there was about 30 of us you go in and theres a small bar, lounge area with sofas and tables a buffet style table with food, breakfast bar with stools looking out directly opposite the stage! Then you have about three small rows of seats infront of your box on like a little balcony to watch from whilst you get waited on hand and foot by virgin staff with free drink and food!!! Becks and the boys were in the audience aswell so BASICALLY i HAVE WROTE THIS POST TO GROVEL AND APOLOGISE TO MY HUBBIE FOR TAKING THE MICKEY ALL WEEK AND BEING UNGRATEFUL FOR WINNING THE COMPETITION BEFORE WE WENT- THANKYOU SWEETIE AND NEXT TIME ILL WITHHOLD MY COMMENTS UNTIL IVE BEEN, SEEN AND HEARD FOR MYSELF!!! WE HAD AN AGREEMENT THAT IF I ENJOYED THE CONCERT I WOULD HAVE TO PUBLICALLY COME ON HERE AND APOLOGISE TO HIM EAT HUMMBLE PIE, AND EMBARASS MYSELF BIGTIME, BUT A DEALS A DEAL- SO UNFORTUNATELY HERE I AM- AND IM SURE YOU NOW THINK IM ABSOLUTELY NUTS NOW AND I DONT BLAME YOU IM TRUELY EATING MY WORDS LOVE WIFEY XXX

Hello All I was wondering if anybody knows the plans for the landscaping of SWB will they be planting trees shrubs etc as they have shown in the promotional DVD. Also for the beach area what access are they going to provide, are they going to alter the beach or leave it as it is I wondered what people preferred. With Regards

Hi Dobbo, I have heard they are planning to plant trees, I know Edith would like to put fruit trees in for us all to enjoy. I also understand they plan to ship more sand into the beach - but its all hearsay so dont hold me to it ! Regards. P

Hi Dobbo I heard that SWB were getting a specialist landscape gardener from Israel to do all the communal landscaping but again it's hearsay - luckily we will have a couple of wells in which to keep the plants watered. Regards

Sorry meant to say that if you have bought you would be aware of the expected fees which are in comparison to all other developers. So thats why I find it strange you should post such a question

Hi C4us we were advised that our villa would be completed Nov 08 but not sure where we are with this now as I understood Phase 1 was Nov 07 and we agreed to complete in Phase 3 when all the facilities should be in place!! We are not moving out there but may use for occasional hols not sure that we would want to let it out but it is on a holiday complex so I guess we will wait and see.

I am thinking of going out to NC probably in Feb or March in order to choose tiles etc. My boyfriend and I live in Leigh on Sea in Essex - our children are grown up (no what I mean is they are in their twenties but have still to get past the age of 13!!) - anyhow, hope to meet up soon - Jackie. ps. I am beginning to feel jealous about Arthur and Dorothy!! CAN SWB PLEASE PUT SOME NEW PICS ON THEIR SITE!! |

Happy new Year Norths4me I've just recd an email from them saying that it's now definitely happening on 10 January. Also, other friends of ours, who have bought into SWB, told us that we might be getting a camera system (not sure what this means) so that we'll be abe to see on a daily basis how our construction is coming along. I am now getting so excited - first thing in the morning I count my calendar down!!!! Just think no more work for my beautiful boy - we can just play!! THE MAGIC HAS ARRIVED, IT'S SNOWING Best wishes to family
