We live in Alanya and travelled to cyprus in May by ferry. Two ferry companies -

Both chargre TL130 +TL harbour dues for a return trip. A turkish visitors visa may be needed £15 per person.

Pleasant 4 hour trip. Ferries are not bad, cafe a bit limited so take some food/drinks with you.

or just do a google search on Alanya. Taxis are yellow and make sure the meter is switched on. The dolmus station is in the center of town by the friday bazaar. Coach station on Kleopatra side just before you join the dual carriage way. Hotels are from TL60 for a double room per night. There are dozens of them. Expect discount for a weeks stay.

If you are coming during the kids summer holiday then expect thousands (30,000!) of mainly German and Dutch tourists. It is also hot 35C+ and 100% humidity. We go on holiday then;)
