Never mind the list - its the noise!! Now windows are open at night these bars and clubs with any kind of music seem to have to blast it out so people for miles can hear it. am not sure which one we can hear the most where we are, but Karoake at Acmenya and Ibo seem to be the worst - didnt stop til after 1.30am the other night. But certainly the same songs (?) seem to be repeated from both at different times. I know Im another whinging Brit!! Actually I put up with it, but some (even) older people may find it difficult to sleep with the big band beat drumming in their ears!

You too? Im tone deaf and sing like a corncrake! Perhaps we should get together - maybe theyd close early? Used to get bullied into going to karoake in China, but there they seemed to think I could sing!1 Poor deluded people. Love listening to good singing and good music- bring back the 50s and 60s. (that should get someone going)

Never liked Karaoke in UK but it's all we get here and sick of hearing the same old songs. Still. seems the Brits like it cos they keep goin just as they do to hear the same old acts year in year out. May I say that they do NOT improve with age. NO-ONE seems to like rock, Aerosmith, stones, U2, Santana, Lenny Kravitz, Ozzy, bon Jovi, Anastasia, etc; etc;

Every Track Clapton done, then errrr everything by Zeppelin, Whitesnake, Marillion, Jethro Tull, Genesis, Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, Golden Earing, Wishbone Ash, Black Sabbath, Peter Gabriel, Then throw in a bit of country, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Willie Nelson, JC, Loretta Lynn, Patsy Cline and many more... mellow out later to some old Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Al Martino, Louis Armstrong, a few more drinks then it's time for the old Nat King Cole

Snakes Have to say in 8 years i have NEVER heard any band here play Brown Sugar. Seen probably every band here as well. How many have you seen when you have only been here a couple weeks?? I also notice you praise Eric Clapton in an earlier post to The Saints. Would you be the same plonker who a few months ago to another poster said Clapton wasnt very good. You also say you wrote How Long recorded by Ace and it was a number 1 in 1974. It was actually written by Paul Carrack and only got to number 20 in 1976. Having researched the Band your name isnt mentioned in any way shape or form. Annie Lennox NEVER recorded a song called Save the World according to her OWN Discography. If you want to come on here and spout bullshit( which you seem pretty good at) I would suggest you at least get some facts right otherwise you are going to look an even bigger prat than you do now There are some damn good bands here and quite frankly I seriously doubt you could compete with them

Zerochlor Totally agree. Serdar Tuksal is a top singer and a great Sax player. Been watching him for years. Kez Yep Funky Monkey very good as well together with Unreal, The Old Rockers and a few others and all playing different songs and never heard one of them play Brown Sugar Thats the point I was making earlier as I feel the original post on here was rather derogatory and not based on any fact whatsoever Snakes Surely if you wrote a number 1 hit you would at least know what year it was a hit. Copyright and Publishing Rights also dont lie

Lilli Not saying he isnt a talented musician but there are plenty of talented musicians here and never seen any of them post childish remarks about other acts on any of the Forums or make false claims to fame Annna It might have helped if Snakes had got the title of the Annie Lennox song right in his post dont you think!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Makes you think doesnt it?????????????? Snakes No comment from you about How Long only getting to number 20 and NOT number1 I notice

As has already been said, Funky Monkey does not do all the same old stuff. They play Bon Jovi, Proclaimers, Blur, Franz Ferdinand, Lynard Skynard, Killers, Greenday, The Who, The Clash, Vanilla Sky, Police, Stereophonics, Arctic Monkeys and the list goes on.

Little rob...etc I think your missing the point, I don't think Snakes is making judgements on any of the entertainers here being 'bad musicians/singers' I think the bigger picture is the entertainment industry in general, as it's the same the world over. Few musicians remain true to their art, We might mess around with covers, and portray them in our own style, but there's nothing original. I know of more than one musician here who writes their own stuff.... yet we rarely here any of it??!! Why?? Because it's a risk, and it's very hard to make a living performing original stuff. Far easier to do 500 miles, or Que sera sera! (somebody shoot me!... I know you want to!) I know I'm never gonna please everybody, but I'll die trying! Whether or not snakes has done what he says he has.... really is besides the point, although having met him I don't doubt it. The fact that he is saying it, in the first place, suggests to me, that he is a musician that believes in the true art. the

Clearly you are on a different planet Snakes as I dont even play an instrument so I am not who you seem to think I am but would be interested in who that is according to you. Please take the trouble to enlighten me Still no answer to a number 20 in 1976 becoming a number 1 in 1974. ha ha ha. Perhaps its time to rein in your ego somewhat and concentrate on your own playing. Maybe you will even open with Brown Sugar

Anna I fully take your point but I dont think I misinterpreted what was said. One post from Snakes used the word plonkers which while I am not a musician, ( despite what the man himself seems to think) I feel is a slur on people like yourself hwo provide what the people here want. Namely entertainment. You have certainly never come on here and slighted your fellow songsters, neither has Jonny Hawkins or anyone else that I've ever seen. As other people have also pointed out the bands here provide a great range of music which makes the first post totally wrong. As for the other claims, I stand by the facts and not what someone claims. Seen it too often over here

Hey, I do get your point re the old same stuff, but if people are out having a good time etc... that's fine isn't it? There are a few real 'live' acts here and I'm sure if the law was different, we would get to hear more of them. I do like real live music with live musicians, but don't like it too loud! 60's music seems to go well, as there are alot of ex-pats from that era here. There was a couple here a little while back that did 60's stuff and though it was covers, of course, they did a really good and different selection to the usual songs done on karaoke There's room for everyone...

littlerob (335) !!! the whole point of my post was because i was watching a band on saturday night sitting with some well respected board members of many years who have submitted their identities and pictures (unlike yourself who joined the day you posted abuse at me ) who said why do they all play the same old stuff we'd like to go out and hear and see something different !!! which led to me posting number one and because i hope to play some concerts here although as you said not here long but that is not a qualification to be earned ! i open a challenge to you ! post your picture or come to my first concert introduce yourself and then we will see who is the "liar " and fake !! the public can decide ! regards Barry ! by the way ! this bloke i saw saturday you should post about ! he had a nice guitar but !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! you know !!!!!

hello Anna !! thanks for your input and support ! you know as well as me there are lots of stato's out there who live from facts from internet garbage that was compiled from other info right or wrong ! I find people who register and immediately post abuse when they see a loop hole to make themselves noticed are clearly lacking in self esteme and talent as i am sure this person is !!! meanwhile i hope to see you soon and enjoy your performance but as discussed it would be nice to see a different act etc ! i know how good "funky monkey " are and Johnny a great front man soon to be gone and i have heard about the great sax player but as yet not been able to see him !! i admire all good musicians no matter what their genre (style and era 335) but the whole point was "wouldnt it be nice for something totally different" whether or not you like it as i dont the predictable stuff here but surely i can give my opinion !!!! You Tube Highbarn Baker street !! regards Barry (real name)
