a t/c lawyer named ata dayanc will file a lawsuit at the (echr) against the roc regarding a house which belongs to his family at the tahtakala area in nicosia.

mt dayanc said the building is currently used as school and he will demand 2 million euros as compensation and the return of the property . he argued that he has sent two letters to the ministry of education and culture but received

no satisfactory reply.

he noted that if a person lived in the house,he might not have considered filing a lawsuit .however,he added ,the occupier of the house is the state and this state should both compensate us for our loss and return our house to us.

I for one stand right behind Mr dayanc, let us hope that many more Turkish Cypriots stand up now and let the

Greek Cypriots know that this situation is not one sided as they would have us believe.

Anyone see the ITV Tonight programme on 5 June 2009? Orams mentioned briefly. Programme very biased in favour of Greek Cypriots and ITV produced video footage of Turksih paratroops 'invading' did not say that this was 'intevention' by Turkish troops to prevent Ethnic cleansing!! Greek woman moaning about loss of land but no mention of land owned by Turkish Cypriots in south. The same reporter on tonights programme was around in 1974 and witnessed the 'invasion'. Those of us who have bought property in the TRNC deserve everything we get for buying Greek Cypriot land - at least that seemed to be the conclusion of the programme. No mention made of the Greek Judge in The Hague who gave the decision against the Orams. The greek Cypriots still want to control the whole island as evidenced by the fact that as I was told by one of them TRNC does not exist and it is unlawful to buy property there it is the occupied zone - any comments?
