i'm trying to find an external hard drive with a 500gb (or more) capacity, if anyone has any ideas let me know..

They should be available in all good Computer Stores over there. If not they will get one for you. Or you could take a trip to Istanbul and goto Kadikoy (on the Asian Side) where there is an area around the Ferry Terminal that you can browse through many computer shops.

When I was there a couple of months ago they were doing Western Digital 1Terrabyte Hard Drives (1000GB) for 150TL, 500GB were around the 100TL mark.
