Hello to all at Cyprus 44, I am shipping out my furniture which will be around 580 cubic square foot. Obviously I went down the usual root of getting quotes from the shipping companies. Nevertheless, rather than spending thousands, I have noticed that both Hertz and Europcar will allow me to take a Luton Van over. Including 3 nights stop off and diesel over 2500 miles, I believe there would be a significant saving albeit the fact the van has to come back again? It seemed sensible to post an ad in the hope that perhaps there is someone there who would be looking to ship back to London, and wouldn't mind the 3 day drive in an empty Luton van. That way the cost of hire could be halved making it even cheaper? Any help you can give me on this would be fantastic. I thought it would be worth a try. PS Driving out around 17th June, but the van hire can be extended for 2 weeks or even a month at quite a good cost. Approx £400 for every 2 weeks. Kind regards, Richard

Even better, tie up with someone wanting to return to the UK and let them get return use of the van! Halving the cost.... Hey, there must be a business in this... damn, just divulged my bright idea!

Can the rental agreement on the van include someone (in Cyprus) who isn't there to sign when it's signed up in UK by the original hirer? Is that 'double Dutch' - or what???!!!
