Would any ladies out there like to start a forum on this subject (without photo of course) because I am sure the Turks have their private forum listing available English women they have dumped after a few weeks like their hunting dogs. I have heard lots of horror stories too even down to English woman marrying Turkish in UK then going to Turkey and finding his other wife and kids. TOTAL SHOCKİNG. What you say??????? Im not bitter honest!

Fully agree with you ukturk, Ive often wonered what these women are thinking about, you dont have to be Einstien to realise these lounge lizards probably live in a tin shack have saved 10 years for a decent set of gear and are on the grab for anything they can get, top prise being a UK passport and a life on benifit. Pity the boot is' nt on the other foot, could do with 5 or 6 mediteranian type dollies to buy me drink all night and tell me I'm beautiful

Hi all,

Unfortunately many women fall into this trap!!

This has been happening for years as they get swept away by these men who tell them instantly how beautiful and special they are and how much they love them and want to get married all in the space of a 2 week holiday!!!

Then they marry them take their money, use them for sex and gain a british passport and citizenship from it!!

Then before you can say bobs your uncle- they are off with your money, their british passport and free to roam the uk as a legal citizen with your hard earned cash!!!

Sorry to be pesimistic- But thats the truth of the matter!!!

But this doesnt just apply to turks- it happens in ALOT of countries!!!

I would like a toyboy who has a sense of humour, elegant and discreet, well mannered, good looking, intellegent, has travelled the world, loves politics, loves the outdoors, enjoys cooking, loves cleaning and washing up, loves old people, loves prostitutes, loves drinking, has a generous spirit, has an open mind, has impeccable taste, loves sad music, enjoys poetry, is well read and will adore me eternally and refuse my money.......................

The Husband Store

A store that sells new husbands has just opened in New York City, where a

woman may go to choose a husband.

Among the instructions at the entrance is a description of how the store

operates:

You may visit this store ONLY ONCE! There are six floors and the value of

the products increase as the shopper ascends the flights.

The shopper may choose any item from a particular floor, or may choose to go

up to the next floor, but you cannot go back down except to exit the building!

So, a woman goes to the Husband Store to find a husband. On the first floor

the sign on the door reads:

Floor 1 - These men Have Jobs.

She is intrigued, but continues to the second floor, where the sign reads:

Floor 2 - These men Have Jobs and Love Kids.

"That's nice", she thinks, "but I want more."

So she continues upward. The third floor sign reads:

Floor 3 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, and are Extremely Good Looking.

"Wow," she thinks, but feels compelled to keep going.

She goes to the fourth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 4 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Good Looking and

Help With Housework.

"Oh, mercy me!" she exclaims, "I can hardly stand it!"

Still, she goes to the fifth floor and the sign reads:

Floor 5 - These men Have Jobs, Love Kids, are Drop-dead Gorgeous, Help with

Housework, and Have a Strong Romantic Streak.

She is so tempted to stay, but she goes to the sixth floor, where the sign

reads:

Floor 6 - You are visitor 31,456,012 to this floor. There are no men on this

floor.

This floor exists solely as proof that women are impossible to please.

Thank you for shopping at the Husband Store.

PLEASE NOTE: To avoid gender bias charges, the store's owner opened a New Wives store

just across the street.

The first floor has wives that love sex.

The second floor has wives that love sex and have money.

The third, fourth, fifth and sixth floors have never been visited

It works both ways, lots of silly old men falling for young girls too. This is world over, not just Cyprus and Turkey.

An excellent and very funny book about an 84 year old man who marries a 36 year old Ukrainian divorcee is "Short History of Tractors in Ukrainian" by Marina Lewycka. Good holiday reading and lots of laughs.

Jamesb Message 18 : That is the best joke I have heard in ages. It is true that women want everything about the men to be perfect, but I have never come across a woman whithout faults themselves.

UkTurk : What you say is absolutely true as these women are living in a dream world when the believe that a much younger man is interested in them genuinely and do not think about how they can benefit from them.

Just reading this stuff. Well I was lucky with my Turkish man I think.

He was everything I like in a man, & treated me so well. Yes, you can get

the sponger types everywhere as I have seen working in Turkey & M.East for

years, but have seen women using men too, so it's not all one way.

Im pleased to hear things are working for you and your Turkish man (you are English I presume). How long you been together.

I know one close friend who years ago lived and worked in turkey. She met one Turk and they fell in love and decided to set up home together in Turkey she went back to work in the UK to send money over for the house they were having built only to find when she returned he had moved his wife and kids in and was willing she stayed too.

Im told it stems from the old days when lots of Turkish soldiers were killed in the army and many wives were left widowed and so many women were taken under the roof of anothers husband. Tradition continues in some villages.

You presume wrong - am Scots & part English, plus I am referring to

a time years ago, when I was working in Istanbul. Water under the

bridge now but I will never forget. I have worked overseas 11 years in

various countries & the worst cases of rotten behaviour have experienced

was from 1 Polish & 1 Welsh man in U.A.E. neither of whom I wished to be

involved with. My friend in Cyprus has been married over 40 years to a local (she's from Yorkshire) & don't think they will part now. Will be seeing her

end of week when I go there. I was married 17 years to a man from another

land & religion, widowed at 37, but I don't regret that either.

Dear Bradus re msg 20

An EXCEPTIONAL read " - sadly, the next one about the exploits of a young Ukrainian girl working on a Strawberry farm in Kent isn't so interesting :(

For those of you who THINK getting married to a UK citizen means the Turk/ Russian whatever lady / man can come an live in the UK / EU and get a passport, then "clear off" .. I have "news" for you..

Getting married and proving a relationship is only one part of the process. To get a" right to remain visa" for the UK involves proving the above and that you can support your partner .

Then the partner has to live in the UK a long time - if the relationship breaks down - they LOSE the right to remain- until they get "indefinite leave to remain"

To get a UK passport and "go solo" they have to reside in the UK for Three years and pass either an English test or a knowledge of Britain test...

This costs approx £1200 per person and the govt is thinking of making the process harder and longer.

Political asy

Political asylum a better route to get into and stay in the UK..

Doing it LEGALLY is so expensive -that it may now be ENCOURAGING illegality :(

Another case of the govt making it SEEM like it is doing something, but targeting the wrong type of immigrant !!

Hi, just my thoughts on this, having just returned from the UK.....

I only stayed 1 week but spoke to 3 women all about 30, with a child of 8 -10 years...all divorced from their Turkish Cypriot husbands!!!

Seems their ex's will not pay for any upkeep of the child, and only wanted a replacement mother...not a partner for life.

All the TurkishCypriot men I know ( quite a few ) none are faithfull

I have been with my Turkish Cypriot husband coming up to 15 years, very very happy!!! Every thing we have bought, built or own is either in both of our names or just mine, he never took any money from me as I never had any, never got my passport as we never wanted to move to NZ and he would of had to to get it. now as Londoncypriot said all TC can get EU passports.

I have many friends who meet there TC/Turkish husbands around the same time as me, of about 15 of us only 1 has left her husband. Where about 50% of my english / nz friends marriages have broken down for a variety of reasons.

I think everyone is very quick to jump on the band wagon about this subject, just remember you only hear the bad stories, good ones don't sell mags and newspapers.

As for the silly women in their 60's and 70's who really think that a young lad of 20 thinks they are sexy/beautiful or what ever. I think they are the ones with the problem. I think most have left their brain at the Airport.

I feel I must add to this thread as I only got married this year to my Turkish boyfriend. Yes hes younger than me......but we've been together nearly 4 years now and he has done nothing but help me in everything I do.

I don't think you can just say its just the Turks who want a UK Passport. Its all over the world, because they have heard theres free houses and money etc etc Blame the British Government for that.

My husband wants neither a UK Passport or money (in any case I haven't got any).......but thats another story.

He supports me, when I need him to, and everything I own is in my name.

Maybe it won't last forever.........but hey-ho, I went in with my eyes wide open, and I'm so happy with him. I just enjoy our time together and everyday he makes me laugh.

Not all Turks are 'love rats' .

Metin,

Just out of curiosity, how many years younger is he? I think its fine if the lady is only a couple of years older but problematic between 3 and 5 and real problem if more than 5. that's my view. As for men being older, I think its very good up to 3-5 years, not too bad up to 10 years and after that it may cause strains. Of course it differs a great deal from person to person but I am generalizing.

More than 5 yrs.......

So how long have I got to wait before the problems set-in ??????

I'm not actually worried as I tend to live 'day by day' and don't worry about the future too much. I lost someone very close to me about 7 years ago.......and it completely changed my attitude to life.

I have been married to a Turkish man for 12 years, he worked his ass off in the UK and contributed more to the economy than some lazy good for nothing English men. We have never claimed benefits. Neither of us had a penny when we met, we worked hard, and everything has been equal. He has a British passport, good job as the Turkish one is not much use here. I am 5 years older than him so wonder what "real problems" will we face Ismet?

In answer to your question please read my last sentence in msg. 41. It will be interesting to have some statistical results but obviously not with two selective samples. It will have to be at least 500 slected at random.

Roy

Came late into this debate however, I did once approach a young nubile drop dead gorgeous CT girl and whispering gently into to her ear, romantically putting my arm around her shoulder said,"Would you like to feel old age creeping on"! She immediately replied," I'll happily marry you but you will also have to marry my Mother, my Grandmother all my Aunts, cousins and financially provide for all my male relations! That was the end of that!

My friend went on an arranged trip to Turkey 2 weeks ago. She met with someone and was paid £900 to come over again and marry him and would be given £20.000 for her trouble. Has anyone heard of anything similar?

When I was working in Turkey a woman, who was married to a MUCH older American,

offered to arrange a marriage for me with a local man for money. I was appalled and so

was my American friend whose house she was in. She was an ex policewoman too, but

I told her in a polite way, that I neither needed the money, nor the man.

mermaid - message 56

the same could be said for ANY man of ANY nationality - a bit short sighted - maybe you had a bad experience that led to divorce -but then so have lots of people from all over the world - not just Turkish men that are a problem.

My husband is Turkish and he is NOT a crap husband or an appaling father ( all be it we are new at this bit !!!!)

I met my husband back in 1998 whilst on holiday in kyrenia with friends,i am english and my husband is turkish cypriot, and now in 2010 we are still married with 2 beautiful boys,so some people are mugs like the ole biddies that pull kids and actually believe they will live happily ever after, and some are actually real, and i couldnt wish for better in-laws

I met my hubby in Gumbet in 1999, we saw each other for about 2 years and then he came over to Scotland for a visit for 4 months before we made the decision to get married or not. He went back to Turkey and his home town of Iskenderun and applied for a Marriage Visa, came back and we got married May 2001 and have been happily married ever since.

I think it's the luck of the draw and there are plenty of men in the UK who dupe women all the time and to be honest, I think plenty of women who also dupe men.

Unfortunately there are so many UK women who go abroad looking for love and set themselves up for a fall, can you really blame the guys for taking advantage?

Why bring this old thread up again, and why bother to keep on about this same subject. It has been done to death. There are good and bad in every nationality.

Married me Wildebeest (bless her) when she was 16 and 5 children by age 23. Some 47 years later we now tell the children that we wanted to divorce years ago but could not as neither of us would take custody of the children. Also tell the children that the 10 grandchildren are great and we wish we had them first. The longevity of the marriage I put down to DIY skills. The Wildebeest wears the trousers and says "Do this and do that" and I always reply "DIY" " do it yourself". I do not know any magic formula for a long and happy partnership but I am sure that if you try to laugh together through all the worries and misfortunes which may come your way, love continues to grow. (even when the Wildebeest is Welsh !).

Now the Wildebeest has just gone to bed I have the courage to admit that I always wanted to marry a nymphomaniac, who owns a pub, and drives an Aston Martin.

Why are women any different to men? When a man pays for a woman its seen as normal, when a woman pays for a male shes been conned !! I don't think so lol You get what you pay for!!! If the dog next door cries every time he sees your boat then why should a pristine lover boy fall in love with you if your sell by date has expired ? The moral to the story is get a life !!!
