Hi ginty, My father had your problems but always managed to get insurance from age concern and he didn't stop travelling until he was 87. The premiums of course were high but you can expect that, if you have pre existing health problems.

I have number of illnesses and have previously been refused by at least six but was successful with Mytravel.com insurance - I gave full disclosure and got annual family cover - also got my dad insured with his medical problems (including heart condition and spinal problems) - his single trip cover was £23.97. I'd recommend them - online application - you need medical and medication details but straightforward to do. Good luck. xx jx

I have existing medical problems and had quite a problem getting insurance for our holiday in August. In the end we got reasonable priced insurance from American Express. You don't have to be a card holder to get either. Hope this helps.

Please have a look at the two travel insurance links on our web site. http://www.flightholiday.co.uk both will work with clients over 60! Even over 75!! One of them does cover quite a few pre-existing conditions unhappily I am (due to UK law) not allowed to tell you which one. I am covered with Globetrotter for more than one heart condition which a lot of insurers will not accept. Tom IAH Ltd http://www.flightholiday.co.uk

| Ginty message 19 - there are two insurers on our flightholiday site and they do alll sorts of periods including long stay but there might have been a health related reason that you were only offered 24 days. Extrasure offers single trip over 180 days for sure and Globe Trotter about 90 days (which should be nearly enough as that is the length of a visa) - You should always take out insurance to include all travelling days not just the time away.
