My wife's phone is a Nokia 5310 XPress and it is locked into O2 Pay and Go. We have visited a couple of shops in Girne who have unlocked previous mobiles for us, but this combination has them beaten. One said we could only get it done in England.

HELP!!!

I always unlock mobile phones through the internet...you get an unlocking code sent via e-mail...so easy. You dont get charged any more than you would if you went to a shop and you can do it without leaving your home.

The Nokia 5310 is one of the few that Nokia have been chipped to make unlocking impossible without dedicated machines that only O2, or the Service Provider, has. It is a similar case with the Nokia 11xx series. O2 will unlock the phone for you but you will need to post it to them and pay their fee.

A similar problem exists with Sony Ericsson phones that are locked to the '3' network. Although they can be unlocked for use with any sim card you cannot get the full functionality of the phone like sending and recieving MMS (Picture Messages), or accessing the Internet or video calls.

That type of phone has the bb5 software on it and not many people can unlock them here.

I use the following site http://www.unlockitfree.com/unlocknok4.php - not sure if your model is "unlockable" though, I am sure it will tell you if it can't unlock it.

Unlockitfree cannot unlock that type of phone and sometimes claims to unlock most phones and after yuo have paid they tell you that they cant unlock it. As for the little chip that goes behind your chip in the phone this is a turbo sim and does not always work.

visit this site and download the unlock code calculator

http://rapidlibrary.com/index.php?q=unlock+nokia+5310

The free V310 one downloads fine. It supports your model and O2 so inter your IMI and let the software calculate your unlock code then enter it to unlock your phone.

Hope this helps.
