...and come along to our COFFEE MORNING on MONDAY 22nd June at the Black Olive Cafe, Alsancak. It commences at 11.30am. We are holding the coffee morning to raise funds for a day out at the seaside for 44 of the SOS Project children, many of whom, although hard to believe, have never seen the sea. We want to give them a memorable day out. These children have so very little. To enable us to make it a great day for them, we are asking for people to sponsor a bucket and spade for 5tl and/or donate a towel. We will be accepting these at the coffee morning but should you be unable to make it, our official collecting points are with Teresa at Kibris Gelini, our SOS stall at Lambousa market on Saturdays or to a member of the committee. There will be stalls at the coffee morning and of course Black Olive have a good selection of lunches and snacks. Thank you to the Black Olive Cafe, who are very kindly donating 10% of their takings to our fund. PLEASE come along and support

Hello flowerfairy, when is the day out at the seaside for the children, and which beech will youmbe using. We are moving into our bungalow this week and hope to have our belongings sorted by the end of next week. Any assistance we can give after this, even helping out on the day.

Hi decanddyl, thankyou, the day at the seaside is 1st July,at camelot beach, but we need towels, sunscreen, buckets and spades, any beachy kind of games, a goal post, volleyball nets, to be honest , the babies aren't a problem to amuse, the older children are our problems. All ideas will be welcome, the girls will help with the younger children, but we would ideally like them to have fun, the boys, well, they'll be boys, but we could do with some help to entertain them, and keep them in control, whilst alowing them to have a fun day. Any football coaches, volleyball, cricket, rounders, anything will help us to make the day a day to remember for them. thankyou

Second thoughts Metin, if you have any spare tables, we may be able to use them. Also, bring a chair if you can, just in case, as I'm hoping there will be a lot of people attending.........i hope..........

I booked a pitch 4 weeks ago and now have been told - today - they dont want us!!!? Having collected since then for the SOS plus a donated towel I am spending the rest of today returning the contributions to those kind enough to have given them to us to bring on Monday. In the UK I am a trustee of two charities and have been for a number of years now - we believe in treating our volunteers and helpers with some respect and dignity. Its appalliing just to send someone down to Lambousa with a cursory "sorry" but we already have a jewellery stallholder - its not our fault its the SOS that have messed up. The only people that will lose out on the day will be those that the SOS are collecting for -I think the administration of this whole thing is appalling yet there are postings even today asking for stallholders. Perhaps someone from SOS would like to e-mail me and explain why after 4 weeks and this ad on cyprus 44 they consider our wares are not of merchantable quality?

Bondi, i would be intrested to know who you booked this stall with four weeks ago, as I only posted this request on 15th June at 14.51. I would also like to point out, we are a committee that are fundraising for the SOS project families. It is not the SOS that have 'messed' up, but myself, , for which I can only apologise. This ad. is still on the board to remind everyone of our coffee morning on June 22nd. I would also like to add that I have never seen your wares, and would certainly not say that they are not of merchantable quality.

I was approached by a lady called Vicky prior to 15th June I still have the flyer that she gave us - she liked our goods and asked us to come along we put it into the diary and made necessary travel arrangements . Our wares are sterling silver jewellery - not alpaca or what some traders try and purport to be silver -we trade under a play on words strap line of "trading fayre" - which we do. It was today at around 12.45pm that a woman just came up to us, when we were packing up, at Lambousa and said that as there was a duplication we werent needed - now I do not know what her name is but the mobile no is 0533 845 1679 as I phoned back to express our feelings as to the manner and reason why we were dismissed in such an unprofessional and insulting manner. The charities, run by committee, that I am involved in go for the maximum benefit of that charity - yes we have some duplicates but not all wares are the same and a good time is had by everyone - there is none of this nonsense!
